Dottie Lux performs this Friday, October 1, at Red Hots Burlesque and Risk-A Cabaret

This Friday night, catch Dottie Lux as she performs at two shows in the San Francisco Bay Area: Her very own Red Hots Burlesque at San Francisco's El Rio and Risk-A Cabaret at Sebastopol's Aubergine After Dark.

Who is Dottie Lux? Dottie has been performing burlesque since 2001, where she started performing in New York City. Did you know that she was the very first Dr. Sketchy's model? She's also been featured in many magazines such as SF Weekly, GO Magazine, and others. She's performed on stages across the country, including at Tease-O-Rama and the New York Burlesque Festival.

She started Red Hots Burlesque soon after she started performing, and in 2008 Dottie brought Red Hots Burlesque to San Francisco where there's a show every Friday at El Rio. In fact, it's the only weekly burlesque show in the city of San Francisco! She also operates and teaches at the Red Hots Burlesque School of Shimmy. For a complete schedule of classes, please visit

Speaking of Red Hots, this Friday will be a special show! It's Kentucky Fried Woman's birthday! Come and help her celebrate as she FeMCs the show and then heads on out to the patio where the celebration will really get going!

She is a staple of Red Hots Burlesque and we are THRILLED to celebrate with her.

Risk-A Cabaret flier, October 1, 2010

The first Friday of the month is quickly approaching...and you know what that means, my glammy bay-bees...

Risk-A Cabaret presents the GLAM show on Friday, October 1!

Don your glitter, pull on your platforms, and make sure your pants are extra tight for this one...

On the stage for your absolute pleasure....

Just like The City By The Bay, Dottie is known for her dizzying hills and dangerous curves. Well, hello San Francisco! She's here. Hailing from New York City, where she's known to cause a ruckus with a horn, shake it up and bring bawdy brouhaha to well known stages like Coney Island Side Show, The Supper Club and Bowery Poetry Club. Also an educator, she has performed and lectured at NYU and Bard University. New Orleans, Boston, Baltimore, Washington DC, Los Angeles and Seattle have all got a taste of Dottie's chuckles, bumps and grinds. Dottie is also the perpetrator of Red Hots Burlesque, SF's _only_ weekly burlesque show, and runs the School of Shimmy!

Gibson Pearl's unique fusion bellydance roots from her extensive background in tribal fusion, as well as the influence of folkloric, cabaret, and modern dance. A principal dancer with legendary company Ultra Gypsy from 2001-2006, she later joined the innovative Damage Control Dance Theater, where she also acted as Assistant Director. She is currently performing as a soloist and in collaboration with other artists.

The finest in Bay Area glam burlesque...on our lil stage! These beautiful women do Ziggy justice....
She's a rebel. Kitty Von Quim is no fat kid in the corner: the sassy and sumptuous burlesque cutie has shaken and shimmied center stage all over the Bay Area over the last year as a part of Rubenesque Burlesque.

Local superhero...cello goddess...voice of an angel...musical feet.

You may have seen her at the Disco Sparkle Party way back in July...and shes back to dazzle you with her glamor and beauty....

Extra special FIRE show outside...and more acts to be announced!

and last but not least...out musical guests for the evening...

Playing your favorite 80's glam, members of Mr. December and beyond will blow your mind with their out-of-this-world renditions of your favorite (or not so favorite) butt rock tunes, big hair and tight tight TIGHT pants.

Where is all this amazing, shiny, fabulous performance happening you ask?

Well, Aubergine After Dark of course! We'll be kicking off the festivities at 9pm for a mere $10...but come in your best glam attire and get in for $5!
