Oakland burlesque! First Friday Follies happens this Friday, October 1

Oakland has several regularly scheduled burlesque shows, but there is only one show happening this Friday night in the East Bay at the Stork Club! And that means that it's got to be time for First Friday Follies, Oakland's own community-supported giggles and jiggles!

Towards the end of this month's Oakland Art Murmur, the art walk that happens on the first Friday of the month in Oakland's Uptown district, the Stork Club will welcome burlesque fans for a free show that will feature Fella Fem's Dicky Luv, Bitter Waitress, Rubenesque Burlesque, Francine Dead (read the SFBR interview!), Cupcake, and more!

This month's show will start at 9 p.m. and will feature emcees Juicy D. Light and Simone Campbell! And you'll not want to miss comedian Candy Churilla, who has appeared on NBC's Last Comic Standing, KFOX's Greg Kihn Show, was a third place winner of California's Funniest Female Contest in 2009, and was recently on Creepy KOFY Movie Time! So help support burlesque in Oakland! Head on over to the Stork Club this Friday, donate a few dollars at the door, have a few of the delicious drinks at the bar, and enjoy some quality burlesque and comedy this Friday night!
