San Francisco area burlesque for April 21 to April 27, 2010

Aside from the two weekly shows, Red Hots Burlesque and Hubba Hubba Revue at the Uptown, there's two shows happening this Friday night.

Rock Strip n' Roll 4 will be starting at 9pm at The Blue Macaw in San Francisco. It'll feature rock bands Live Evil, Wildside, and Cookie Mongoloid performing with burlesque artists Twilight Vixen Revue, Sparkly Devil, and Clandestine.

At the same time, Baxtalo Drom's Nomad's Curse will be taking place at Amnesia. Join the Hubba Hubba Revue's emcee Kingfish for a mystical night of belly dance, burlesque, middle eastern psychedelia, and bass driven Gypsy beats.

• Friday, April 23: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street. Dottie Lux may be in Seattle to perform with Kentucky Fried Woman at Femmetasia, but the RHB show must go on! Join Debauchery's Ruby Vixen for a show featuring Honey Le Bang, School of Shimmy graduate Ava Lanche, Milkshake, and very special musical entity and beam of black light Virginia Suicide! Show at 7:30pm. $5-10, sliding scale. 21+ w/ID.


• Also Friday: Rock Strip n' Roll 4 at The Blue Macaw in San Francisco, 2565 Mission Street. Witness this 4th annual show of galactic proportions: 3 hard rockin' bands; 3 burlesque troops that are out of this world. If that's not enough, visit the 2nd floor where you can let your inner rockstar shine with rock makeovers, glamour shots, or record your greatness with rock portraits. Featuring bands Live Evil (The Champagne of bands), Wildside (Motley Crue tribute band), and Cookie Mongoloid (Sesame Street Speed Metal) and burlesque acts Clandestine (Hard Rock belly dancing), Twilight Vixen Review(Best troupe around) and Sparkly Devil (Collision of sass, class and ass). Plus Evan Von Slut as MC, our naughty adult raffle, rock makeovers by Aili Ice Designs, rock masages by Gorilla Grips, And Ernie The One Man Drum Band! 9pm to 2am. $10, 21+.


• Also, Also Friday: Baxtalo Drom's Nomad's Curse at Amnesia in San Francisco, 853 Valencia Street. Across the wind swept deserts of time a caravan roams. Baxtalo Drom presents Nomad's Curse, a mystical night of belly dance, burlesque, middle eastern psychedelia, and bass driven Gypsy beats. Hosted by Kingfish of Hubba Hubba Revue, the show will feature dancers Deb Rubin and Fatima! Plus musical guest Khi Darag and DJ Alxndr. 9pm to 2am. $5 before 10pm, $10 after. 21 and older.
  


• Monday, April 26: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue. Join Kingfish and Eddie for a springtime celebration of burlesque in Oakland! Starring Nikki 9, Casey Castille, Dixie DeLish, The Empress, Bunny La Roux, McPuzo & Trotsky, Room for Cream, and Jellyfish Kiss! Also Zip the What-Is-It?! Doors at 9pm, show at 10:15ish. $5, 21+ w/ID.
