San Francisco area burlesque for April 14 to April 20, 2010

It's another one of those weeks filled with shows and burlesque-type events. From Barbary Coast Burlesque in a new venue on Wednesday, to the International Ms Leather show Seduction on Thursday, to The 1970s Show! from Hubba Hubba Revue on Friday, to the SF Boylesque show on Tuesday, there's a good variety to keep you entertained. There's even a Bay Area Burlesque Babes BBQ fundraiser on Sunday! Woo hoo!

• Wednesday, April 14: Barbary Coast Burlesque at the Red Devil Lounge in San Francisco, 1695 Polk Street. Get ready for Sideshow Grind! These women have crossed sea and land to bring you their most powerful talent! Hosted by your very own Bunny Pistol, see Isabella Minx, Sparkly Devil, Mae Western, Flame Cynders, Peaches Velour, Pin Key Lee, Room For Cream, and sASSy Hotbuns as they entice and entertain you! With special musical guests T & A. Show at 8:30pm. $6, 21+ w/ID.
  


• Thursday, April 15: Seduction - An Evening of Burlesque, Strip Tease, Lap Dancing, Drag and More at The Emerald Ballroom in the Golden Gateway Holiday Inn in San Francisco, 1500 Van Ness Avenue. Seduction is a naughty, crazy-beautiful night of burlesque, strip tease, lap dance, drag, and debauchery that will arouse your senses for the weekend to come! Featuring Dottie Lux, Kentucky Fried Woman, Ruby Vixen, Jukie Sunshine, Starr 69, Miss Indigo Blue and Polly Wood from Seattle, and more! Part of the International Ms Leather Weekend. • Friday, April 16: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street. Join Katya Smirnoff-Skyy for a show featuring Dottie Lux, Molotov, Lady X, Sugar Main, and Suppositori Spelling. Show at 7:30pm. $5-10, sliding scale. 21+ w/ID.


• Also Friday: Hubba Hubba Revue presents The 1970s Show! at DNA Lounge in San Francisco, 375 11th Street. Hubba Hubba Revue sets the Wayback Machine to that Decadent Decade of Disco, Glam, Punk Rock and Platform shoes! Starring Miss Ruby White, Alotta Boutte', Juicy D. Light, Katya Smirnoff-Skyy, Kitten on the Keys, Sid Scenic, The Devil-Ettes, The Miniskirt Mob, Jessica Tzur, Lady Satan, Miss Balla Fire, Mynx d'Meanor, sASSy Hotbuns, Pin Key Lee, Miss Mae Western, Casey Castille, Bunny Pistol, Cigarette, Rubenesque Burlesque, Honey Penny, and Kitty von Quimm! • Sunday, April 18: Benefit BBQ for Bay Area Burlesque Babes at Thieves Tavern in San Francisco, 496 14th Street. A day of meat, drinks, chicks and booze! Bunny Pistol will be serving your favorite thirst quencher, while the ladies will be peddling their meats and treats! Good music and bad girls! 12pm to 5pm. 21+.
  


• Also Sunday: Debauchery at the White Horse Inn in Oakland, 6555 Telegraph Avenue. It's Debauchery time again! This month the show is benefitting AIDS Ride - that incredible yearly event that many in our community participate in. The oh-so-talented Alotta Boutté is guest hosting this month's show, and there's a hot slate of performers to tease, titillate and tempt. $10 lapdances and specialty cocktails, too! Doors at 7pm, show at 8. $5 to $15 cover, sliding scale, 21+.
  


• Monday, April 19: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue. It's Bombshell Betty's Burlesquerteer night WITHOUT Betty! That's right ladies and gents. Betty is on her honeymoon and the show is still going on without her. And if you act now, we'll even throw in Fromagique without Randy! We guarantee Fromagique will never sound better! In honor of Spring, the theme will be "Too Many F#%&ING Bunnies" with burlesque performances by: Red Velvet, Lezzie McFaggerson, Fina Fatale, Tiger von Claus, Loreley, Go-Go Bananas, Tasty Temptress, If-N-Whendy, Venomous Veronica Voom, Sultra Violet, Foxy Chartreuse, and Mistress Marla Spanks! Plus solo debuts from several of the most recent Burlesquercise graduates! All hosted by our favorite dude in a dress, Patina DeCopper! Doors at 9pm, show at 10:15ish. $5, 21+ w/ID.


• Tuesday, April 13: Barnaby's SF Boylesque and Push Tuesdays at Infusion Lounge in San Francisco, 124 Ellis Street. Barnaby's SF Boylesque, now in their 4th year, have moved their monthly Kabarett series out of the Mission and into a gorgeous downtown location. Traditional gender roles are reversed in this neo-burlesque, micro-extravaganza. Here, the guys have become the subjugated eye candy, whilst the troupe's lone female, Truly Scrumptious, serves as the evening's Femcee. This sexy song and dance spectacular showcase the best of local vaudeville and circus entertainers. Free show. Dinner and drinks are available. Happy Hour until 10pm. 6pm to midnight. No cover, 21+ w/ID.
