UNLEASH YOUR INNER SHOWGIRL WITH HOT PINK FEATHERS IN SF CARNAVAL 2010!
Do you dream of dancing in the streets? Do Carmen Miranda and Josphine Baker tickle your fancy? Then come join the award winning HOT PINK FEATHERS for this year’s Carnaval SF Grand Parade on Sunday May 30!
CARNAVAL SF 2010 theme is "TUDO JOIA" ("Everything's Beautiful"). The Hot Pink Feathers' inspiration this year with both our visuals and our music comes from CARMEN MIRANDA & JOSEPHINE BAKER.
Our Showgirl Revelers spend 1/3 of the Grand Parade dancing a choreography with the Full Showgirls and 2/3 shakin' their booties as Revelers (a less choreographed, freestyle, and very exuberant participation!) All set to the LIVE MUSIC of the Hot Pink Feathers All-Star Marching band!
This opportunity is not only available to Bay Area folks! Would be Showgirl Revelers in Vancouver and Chicago also have opportunity to join us as Kellita will grace these fair cities to teach our signature moves and parade choreography to dancers there!
BAY AREA DATES: Tues eves 4/27-5/25; Sun afternoons 5/16 & 5/23; and the GRAND PARADE on Sunday May 30th!
CHICAGO DATES: April 17th 2:00-4:00pm at Greenhouse Theater; and the GRAND PARADE on Sunday May 30th!($30 workshop fee + TBA parade and costume fee + TBD extra practice dates)
VANCOUVER DATES: May 8th 4:00-6:15 at Screaming Chicken Studios; and the GRAND PARADE on Sunday May 30th!($30 workshop fee + TBA parade and costume fee + TBD extra practice dates)
ST LOUIS DATES: May 15th, Venue TBD ($30 workshop fee + TBA parade and costume fee + TBD extra practice dates)

Here’s what you get as a Showgirl/Reveler:
*** participation in Carnaval SF 2010 Grand Parade w/ "Best of Bay" Dance Troupe Hot Pink Feathers!!! (DATE is Sunday May 30th)
*** the glorious accompaniment of LIVE MUSIC in the form of the HOT PINK FEATHERS ALL-STAR MARCHING BAND (15+ strong)
*** professionally crafted costume rental
*** 5 Tuesdays (4/27-5/25) of Technique class 7:45-8:45pm complete with personal attention
*** 5 Tuesdays (4/27-5/25) of Choreography and Carnaval Prep 8:45-9:30pm (learn and perform 1 Hot Pink Feathers choreography!) Spend 1/3 of the Grand Parade dancing a choreography with the main group and 2/3 shakin' your booty as a Reveler (less choreographed exuberant participation)
*** 2-3 extra practices (Sundays May 16 & 23 and potentially Thursday eve May 27)
*** the opportunity to study intensively and intimately with Carnaval SF 2008 Queen Kellita and Hot Pink Feathers!
*** the exhiliration of dancing with a group of spirited, embodied and playful dancers who are all bringing their inner showgirls out right alongside each other, supported by an adoring band!
