The Bombshells 14th Annual Booze Broads & Hot Rods this Saturday, April 14, at the Burlingame Embassy Suites

Ah, spring is here and the warm, dry weather has arrived. Well, actually the monster storms have, but by Saturday they'll be gone! And arriving will be booze, broads, and hot rods! Yes, The Bombshells are presenting the 14th Annual Booze Broads & Hot Rods at the Embassy Suites in Burlingame!

There will be a pre-1965 car show, and there will be bands that play rockabilly and rock n' roll! Tennessee's The Original Planet Rockers! Roddy Jackson! Almon Loos & The Hoop and Hollers! And more rockabilly bands! And when the bands aren't playing, there will be music from DJ Okie Oran, DJ Tanoa "Samoa Boy", and DJ Don't Scratch the Wax!

And of course, there will be burlesque with local stars Vera DeVille and Vienna La Rouge!

All of this will happen Saturday, April 14, at the Embassy Suites in Burlingame (map). The fun starts at 1:00 p.m., and continues for 12 hours until 1:00 a.m. Tickets are $20, unless you have a car entered in the car show, then it's $15.00 to get in to see the show.

Alotta Boutté hosts tonight's Little Minsky's at Club Deluxe

Join host Alotta Boutté as she hosts Little Minsky's Burlesque and Variety Show at Club Deluxe in San Francisco.

One of the longest-running burlesque shows in the area, Little Minsky's will often feature visiting performers. This month, Seattle's Ruby Rouge will be performing, along with local performers Vera DeVille, Bunny Pistol, Miss Balla Fire, Pickles Kintaro, Dorian Faust, and Miss Twin Peaks! Also appearing will be with contortion acrobat Elliot, cabaret singer Norman Vane and pianist Alan Choy!

Club Deluxe is located at 1511 Haight Street in San Francisco (map). The doors open at 9;00 p.m., and the show starts at 10;00. Get there early to get a good spot from which to see the show, as it's a intimate club and the good places go fast. Entry is $5.00.

This Saturday at the Shattuck Down Low in Berkeley, Burlesque Moulin will be putting on their last show of 2011, Cirque de Pagan - A Sexy Celebration of Goddesses & The Divine Feminine!

The show will feature lots of local performers such as Ginger Skyye, Alotta Boutté, Casey Castille, Tali the Tattooed Tart, and more! Your Goddess of Ceremonies for the evening will be Burlesque Moulin's very own Isis Starr!

Crashtastic: A burlesque fundraiser for Johnny Crash's magic picture box tonight at El Rio

Burlesque photographer Johnny Crash (pictured) needs a new camera.

As we all know, really good cameras aren't cheap. And taking good pictures in areas where a lot of burlesque shows take place requires great equipment in addition to a good eye and photographer's intuition. So tonight, there will be a burlesque fundraiser to help Mr. Crash to keep on documenting the burlesque scene by helping him to afford a great, new camera.

The show will be Crashtastic: A burlesque fundraiser for Johnny Crash's magic picture box. It will take place at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street (map). The show starts at 9:00 p.m., but you may want to arrive earlier as the first 50 people will get VIP entry for two to Red Hots Burlesque! Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Entry is on a sliding scale from $5.00 to whatever you wish to contribute to the cause. You must be 21 or older to attend.

There are some bands who are intimately involved with the burlesque scene in the Bay Area. Two of these are Thee Merry Widows and Los Shimmy Shakers, who are performing together at Bender's Bar and Grill tonight, Saturday, September 24.

Thee Merry Widows feature burlesque queen Miss Eva von Slut on vocals. You may have seen her hosting or performing at many a burlesque show over the years. Plus Szandora LaVey will be hoop teasin' during their performance.

Los Shimmy Shakers come with their own burlesque performers, the Shakettes! You may recognize some of them from seeing them in burlesque shows. And if you look at the band closely, you may recognize one of them as A. Randy Johnson of Fromagique!

First Friday Follies presents "Seis de Mayo" on Friday, May 6

This Friday night, head on over to the Stork Club in Oakland for "Seis de Mayo," presented by First Friday Follies!

This month's show will include performances by Bunny Pistol, Cherry Galette, Lizzy D. Vine, and more! And the show will be hosted by Miss Bella Trixx, with musical guests Mermaid Bones!

Every first Friday of the month, Oakland has an art walk called Oakland Art Murmur where many of the galleries stay open late. If you've never been, it's pretty popular. And every first Friday, Juicy D. Light puts on a free burlesque and variety show at the Stork Club.

The Stork Club is located at 2330 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland (map). I'm not sure what's at the address on the flier (2813 Telegraph), but I'm sure of the address above. The show kicks off at 9:30 p.m., so get there by about 9:00 to get a good seat.

The First Friday Follies follows the evening's art walk through downtown/uptown art galleries. Finish up the evening with laughter and naughtiness with Juicy D. Light and other performers at the Stork Club.

Curvicious Cabaret's Legends and Burlesque Hall of Fame benefit show on Wednesday, May 4

This coming Wednesday, Curvicious Cabaret will be hosting a benefit show for local Legends of Burlesque and the Burlesque Hall of Fame at the Blue Macaw in San Francisco.

It will feature many of the area's top burlesque performers performing tribute numbers to the icons who have inspired them. Included will be Kitten on the Keys (Holiday O'Hara), Vera DeVille (Bettie Page), Bunny Pistol (Tura Satana), and lots more! Plus a performance by Living Legend Madame E!

There will also be super raffle prizes from Kirsten of Sedusa Studios, an exclusive studio photoshoot package by Team Lexington, free Hubba Hubba Revue tickets, photographs from Johnny Crash, and more! See the listing below for more details.
