Burlesque photographer Johnny Crash (pictured) needs a new camera.As we all know, really good cameras aren't cheap. And taking good pictures in areas where a lot of burlesque shows take place requires great equipment in addition to a good eye and photographer's intuition. So tonight, there will be a burlesque fundraiser to help Mr. Crash to keep on documenting the burlesque scene by helping him to afford a great, new camera.
The show will be Crashtastic: A burlesque fundraiser for Johnny Crash's magic picture box. It will take place at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street (map). The show starts at 9:00 p.m., but you may want to arrive earlier as the first 50 people will get VIP entry for two to Red Hots Burlesque! Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Entry is on a sliding scale from $5.00 to whatever you wish to contribute to the cause. You must be 21 or older to attend.
The show will feature some of the most notable burlesque performers of the Bay Area, including Casey Castille, Bunny Pistol, Vera De Ville, and more! With sideshow performer Molotov! And an appearance by Prine$$ Pandora and dancers from the Lusty Lady! The evening will be hosted by Juicy D. Light of First Friday Follies.
