School of Shimmy is Back!
Keep your 2011 Resolution: Be sexy and confident this New Year!
All classes are open to students of any age or gender who want to shake it on stage or in the bedroom. No previous dance or performance experience is required. No deposit needed for class, however space is very limited and reservations are strongly encouraged. To reserve a spot email: redhotsburlesque@gmail.com with S.O.S. in the subject line. State which class(es) you are interested in and don't forget inquire about discounted rates! All classes are $30.
If you would like to perform at the School of Shimmy Showcase Burlesque 101, 201 and Finshing Touches are mandatory classes. The Winter Showcase will take place on March 18th at 7:30 pm at El Rio as part of the famed weekly show, Red Hots Burlesque.
NEXT CLASS!
Feb 7th 7-9pm Burlesque 201: Getting an Act together:Students are encouraged to come with an act or character in mind. We will develop personas and discuss song choice, prop use, costume selection and techniques for coming up with acts. This class will include lecture and group work.
FOLLOWED BY...
Feb 14th 7-9pm: Strip for your Lover: Both partners are encouraged to come to this class as well as singles or people looking to take home a surprise! Students will learn how to create a sexy character specific to their taste and learn how to make that character move and breathe. With sexy moves and a built up confidence you'll be sure to pop your partner's cork! This class is expertly taught by Alotta Boutte.
