San Francisco area burlesque for the week of August 10, 2009

It looks like this is Milkshake's week! Check out all the boys heading to the yard. Hehe. She'll be performing at Uptown Hubba Hubba on Monday for her birthday show, and will also be performing Wednesday at Barbary Coast Burlesque where all Leos will have their birthdays celebrated. Should be a blast! :-)

There's also the benefit for Jane Doe on Thursday where you'll be able to catch SFBG's Best of the Bay 2009 Burlesque Act, Twilight Vixen Revue.

On Friday, see Miss Cherry Gallete along with the rest of Mangos with Chili as they perform at YBCAlive!'s Mama Calizo's Crash Cabaret.

And there are the regular weekly and monthly shows to round out the week. Catch them and enjoy what feels like the waning weeks of summer.

• Monday, August 10: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue. Help Kingfish and Eddie celebrate Milkshake's birthday! It's her birthday, but she may be providing you with the present of one of her Latin-tinged burlesque acts! Helping everyone celebrate will be Miss Balla Fire, Josie Starre, Pin Key Lee, Room for Cream, Ariyana La Fey, and from New York, Rosey La Rouge! Doors at 9pm, show at 10:15ish. $5, 21+ w/ID.


• Wednesday, August 12: Barbary Coast Burlesque at Annie's Social Club in San Francisco, 917 Folsom Street. Come and celebrate the birthdays of Bunny Pistol, Kandy, Isis Starr, Kiss Me Kate, and all the other Leo's you know and love! Beautiful ladies, drinks, and sensuality!! What a mix! Starring Delilah, sASSy Hotbuns, Alotta Boutte, Citty Rich, Balla Fire, Milkshake, Bella Trixx, Bunny Pistol, Kiss Me Kate, and Isis Starr! Show at 8pm. $5, 21+ w/ID.


• Thursday, August 13: Come Together: A benefit for hate crime survivor Jane Doe at El Rio in SF, 3158 Mission Street. They're putting the FUN into fundraiser with the show they've got lined up for you, as well as AWESOME prizes that you can win in the raffle! All funds raised will go to Jane Doe who was viciously attacked. With performances by The Twilight Vixen Revue, Inflight Nymphs, Bittersweet Trio, Emily Palen, Tonilyn Sideco, Jai Jai Noire, The Buds Duo, Irina Rivkin, and Carrie Gerendasy. 6:30 to 10:30pm. $10-100 sliding scale, 21+ w/ID.


• Also Thursday: Little Minsky's at Club Deluxe in SF, 1511 Haight Street. Little Minsky's is brought to you by Douglas Good (of Cabaret Verdalet), The Flying Fox (burlesque glamour girl) and a few shady characters (they dare not name). Show at 10pm. $5, 21+ w/ID.
  


• Friday, August 14: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in SF, 3158 Mission Street. Dottie Lux brings you a different show every single week! Each event promises the seductive and spicy, absurd and amusing all from local and visiting talent. Show at 7:30pm. $5-10 sliding scale, 21+ w/ID.


• Also Friday: Mangos with Chili Presents Divas and Heroes at Yerba Buena Gardens in SF, 701 Mission Street. A cabaret-style night of story, sounds, and reveals! Seating at YBCAlive!'s Mama Calizo's Crash Cabaret in the Big Ideas Room at the Yerba Buena Center for the Performing Arts is limited, but the show will be broadcast for all to see on a wall of television screens in the main lobby area of YBCA. The Mangos With Chili crew is aching to give you another night of unforgettable performance on queer and trans people of color stories of survival, resistance, lust, ghosts and dreams through our high intensity theater, dance, drag, burlesque and words. Show at 9pm. $10, free for YBCA members.


• Sunday, August 16: Debauchery at White Horse Inn in Oakland, 6555 Telegraph Avenue. Debauchery -- A stripclub for queers of all genders! Featuring an enticing selection of salaciously smoldering strippers, $10 Lap dances and naughty raffle prizes! Doors at 7pm, show at 8. $5-15 cover, 21+ w/ID.
