SF Bay Area burlesque for the week of April 6, 2009

Things are really heating up. There's been a plethora of shows lately, and this week is not exception. In addition to the weekly and monthly shows, there's a breast cancer benefit show in Santa Cruz on Saturday honoring Living Legend of Burlesque, Madame E! The weather should clear up by then, so you could hang out on the Boardwalk during the day, then head over to the show in the evening. But they say past shows have sold out, so get your tickets early!

• Monday, April 6, 2009: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue. Celebrate the coming of spring in Oakland by watching dancing girls and your favorite drunken emcees Kingfish and Eddie. See The Flying Fox, Delilah, Sparkly Devil, Madam Chartreuse, sASSy Hotbuns, Miss Balla Fire, Bootsy LaRue, and McPuzo & Trotsky! Doors at 9pm, show at 10:15ish. $5, 21+ w/ID.
  


• Wednesday, April 8: Barbary Coast Burlesque at Annie's Social Club in San Francisco, 917 Folsom Street. With spring comes joy and laughter! Come celebrate with Alotta Boutte, Josie Starre, Delilah, Isis Star, Diamond Daggers, Bunny Pistol, and sASSy Hotbuns, with host comedian Rusty Mahakian. Show at 8pm. $5, 21+ w/ID.


• Thursday, April 9: Little Minsky's at Club Deluxe in SF, 1511 Haight Street. Little Minsky's is brought to you by Douglas Good (of Cabaret Verdalet), The Flying Fox (burlesque glamour girl) and a few shady characters (we dare not name). Doors at 9pm, show at 10. $5, 21+ w/ID.
  

• Friday, April 3: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street. This week Dottie Lux brings you Miss Glory Pearl--Burly-Pole artist and aerial acrobat-- from the UK, along with Paco Fish from NYC. They're joined by Kentucky Fried Woman, Bunny Pistol, and Simone de la Getto! Show at 7:30pm. $5-10 sliding scale, 21+ w/ID.


• Saturday, April 11:Clown Burlesque Extravaganza: Benefit for Breast Cancer at 418 Project in Santa Cruz, 418 Front Street. What has 17 legs, 17,000 sequins, 17.5 beehive wigs, 7 Red Rubber Nipple Covers, an April in Paris love affair, pirate pathos, and scantily clad clown comedy? You guessed it.....the Clown Burlesque Extravaganza! This is a benefit for breast cancer, honoring local Living Legend of Burlesque, Madame E. Featuring Clown Celebrity Iman, Miss Balla Fire, Bunny Pistol, Little Eyeful, Cupcake, The Infamous BLaM JeTs, Josie Starre, Naughty Nurse Alice, Dr. Wasabi’s Fickle Tickle Clinic, Hut-Ho: Manly Moments, The Ludicrous City Lickers, Burlesque La Moustache Je T'aime, Mouthful of Murth, The Gelastic Fantastic Balloon Popping Daddies and the Girl Next Door!
