San Francisco area burlesque for February 17 to February 23, 2010

It's a post-Valentine's Day week, and guess what! It's Mardi Gras time! So that means there will be several chances to see the Hot Pink Feathers in action this week.

Plus, the Hubba Hubba Revue will be very busy! They'll be performing on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday!

This is one of those weeks in which there will be something burlesquey going on every day of the week. Time to start typing! Enjoy everybody! :-)

  • Wednesday, February 17: Barbary Coast Burlesque: Bordello Utah at Hotel Utah in San Francisco, 500 4th Street. Join your host Alotta Boutté and Bunny Pistol as they welcome Delilah, Kellita, Milkshake, Honey Penny, and sASSy Hotbuns to their second show at the place that once entertained gamblers, thieves, ladies up to no good, politicians, hustlers, friends of opium, Beat Poets, gangsters, Marilyn Monroe, Joe DiMaggio, Bing Crosby, and the cocktail generation. Doors at 8pm, show at 9. $6 at the door, 21+ w/ID.

  • Thursday, February 18: Lighting Up the Sky (feat. Hubba Hubba Revue) at Uptown Club in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue. Join the Hubba Hubba Revue for a A New Orleans benefit show for the betterment of communities. Burlesque with Lola Vauntz, Casey Castille, Madam Chartreuse, Sister Kate, Miss Balla Fire! And Zip the What-Is-It! Music from Beauty and the Beat (The Go-Go's cover band) and The Minks (The Kinks cover band). Doors at 7pm, silent auction at 8, show at 9:30. $10 donation, 21+ w/ID.

  • Also Thursday: Valentine's Day Decompression (feat. The Devil-Ettes) at Rickshaw Stop in SF, 155 Fell Street. 21+ w/ID. The Devil-Ettes and The Mini Skirt Mob will break your heart! Join San Francisco's Go-Go Sweethearts plus members of SF Boylesque and around-town SF go-go cuties and treat yourselves to a visual feast of vintage 60's flavors, delightful tunes and soul shaking dancers. With musical guests The Sermon, Richard Bitch, and Slipstream Sparrows. 8pm. $10, 21+ w/ID.

  • Friday, February 19: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street. Red Hots Burlesque kicks off their third year in San Francisco! Starring Kiss Me Kate, Bitter Waitress, Dottie Lux, Sid Scenic, and Lily Le Rouge. Featuring Mister Fancy from the Deep South! Show at 7:30pm. $5-10, sliding scale. 21+ w/ID.

  • Also Friday: Hubba Hubba Revue: Mardi Gras! at DNA Lounge in SF, 375 11th Street. 32.50, 18 and older. Join the Hubba Hubba Revue as they return to the DNA Lounge a for a bayou blow-out in one of the largest variety shows on the West Coast! Featuring The Hot Pink Feathers, Casey Castille, Sister Kate, Miss Balla Fire, Madam Chartreuse, Alotta Boutte', Honey Lawless, Gigi d'Flower, Arielist Jessica Tzur, Last Night's Fling, Bunny Pistol, Monifa, Rubenesque Burlesque, Josie Starre, Lola Vauntz, Wiggy Darlington, Twinkletoes McGee, Virgina Suicide, and the Hubba Hubba Go-Go Revellers! With musical guests Blue Bone Express (blueboneexpress.com)!   • Saturday, February 20: Rock n Roll Runway (feat. Milkshake) at Chop Salon in Berkeley, 1640 Martin Luther King Junior Way. Catch a burlesque performance by Milkshake, as well as rockin' hair styling by Betty McCain of Chop Hair Salon, pin Up clothing designed by Krafty Kitten, and punk clothing designed by Jerk Off, Inc. $5 at the door, free drink with entry.

  • Also Saturday: Whipped: QTPOC Recipes for Love, Sex, & Disaster at Mama Calizo's Voice Factory in SF, 1519 Mission Street. The second annual show about the miracles, dreams, and cream our hearts make. Mangos With Chili knows that queer and trans folks of color do love, sex, and total disaster like none other! In this special post-Valentine production, QTPOC tell their true life stories of love through music, spoken word, theater, dance, burlesque, drag and video. With Cherry Galette, King TuffNStuff, Delicio Del Toro, Chan Dynasty, a film by Val Killmore, and more. 8pm, $10-15, sliding scale.

  • Also, Also Saturday: Bootie (feat. Hubba Hubba Revue) at DNA Lounge in SF, 375 11th Street. Special mashup burlesque show with Hubba Hubba Revue! Starring Sparkly Devil, Flame Cynders, Bunny Pistol, Twinkletoes McGee, Kiss Me Kate, and Zip The What-Is-It?! With Resident Bootie DJs: Adrian & Mysterious D! Special guest DJ Tripp! In the Upstairs Room: Electro-Bootie with Electro bootlegs, remixes, & covers with guest DJ Donimo! Main floor opening DJ will be Dada! Free Bootie mashup CDs to the first 100 people! 9pm. $12, $6 before 10pm. 21+ w/ID.

  • Sunday, February 21: Debauchery at White Horse Inn in Oakland, 6555 Telegraph Avenue. 7:30pm. $10. A stripclub for queers of all genders! Featuring an enticing selection of salaciously smoldering strippers, $10 Lap dances and naughty raffle prizes! This month features Lady Monster! Door at 7pm, show at 8. $5-15 cover; all proceeds benefit organizations working in the queer community. 21+ w/ID.

  • Monday, February 22: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue. This week, Dottie Lux and her School of Shimmy dancers perform for your pleasure! Featuring Dottie Lux, Bitter Waitress, Eva Valentina, Kitty Von Quimm, Sugar Main, and Super-Special Surprise Guests! Doors at 9pm, show at 10:15ish. $5, 21+ w/ID.

  • Tuesday, February 23: Dr. Sketchy's SF with the Bearded Ladies at 111 Minna Gallery in SF, 111 Minna Street. Amelia Mae Paradise and Sir Loin Strip! These ladies have it all, and you get to draw it! 7 to 10pm. $10 general, $7 students and teachers w/ID. 21+ w/ID.
