This is the week of the debut of
Sparkly Devil's Curvicious Cabaret! It'll be San Francisco's newest monthly burlesque and variety show, and you can see the very first one this Thursday evening at the
Blue Macaw in San Francisco! After this show, you can see it at the Blue Macaw on the first Thursday of every month thereafter.
Fella Fem will be having their big "Drag King, Rat Pack Tribute" show on Saturday at the
White Horse Inn. It'll be a gender-bending, boylesque show with the music of the Rat Pack! There will be special guests, and lots and lots of fun with the Fella Fem fellas. Plus there will be drink specials and a dance party afterwards!
Red Hots Burlesque will be raising funds for
Team In Training at their show this Friday at
El Rio in San Francisco. Funds raised during the raffle will go to fight leukemia and lymphoma, and there will be over $500.00 in prizes to be won! So not only will there be good burlesque and BBQ, but there will be fundraising for a good cause, too! Win-win!
On Monday, there will be a birthday celebration for the
Hubba Hubba Revue's Kingfish at the
Uptown in Oakand! The hardest working man is San Francisco burlesque knows how to party hard too, and he's assembled a show filled with Hubba Hubba favorites, so it'll be a present for everyone who attends! And since it's his birthday, guest hosts
Sparkly Devil and Zip the What-Is-It? are sure to roast Kingfish! It should be a blast!
Plus there will be the regularly scheduled
Little Minsky's and
The Mischievous Maidens shows, and you've got a moderate number of excellent shows happening this week. Enjoy!
- Thursday, March 10: The Debut of Curvicious Cabaret at the Blue Macaw in San Francisco, 2565 Mission Street (map). It's the premiere of San Francisco's newest burlesque and variety show, Curvicious Caberet! It'll be an uproarious evening of in-your-face and over-the-top entertainment, from bold, beautiful women who wear glitter on their lips and rhinestones on their switchblades. Starring The Scarlet Ladders, Revolva, Lady Satan, Ruby White, Calamity Lulu, Delilah, Coco Noir, and Kiss Me Kate! Stage Kittening by Bootsy La Rue. Your host will be Sparkly Devil! Plus, special surprise guests, trivia games, and naughty prizes! Expect the unexpected and come prepared to be dazzled! It's "Burlesque That Bites Back"! 9pm. $10. 21+.
- Also Thursday: Little Minsky's Burlesque and Variety Show at Club Deluxe in San Francisco, 1511 Haight Street (map). This month at Little Minsky's, the glamorous, whimsical drag opera diva Katya Smirnoff-Skyy joins sensational burlesque chanteuse Alotta Boutté as your MCs for the evening. Featuring performances by Vamp Lorraine (Los Angeles), Mynx d'Meanor, Vienna La Rouge, Sid Scenic, Dottie Lux, Josie Starre, and Ava Lanche. Doors at 9pm, show at 10. $5. 21+.
- Friday, March 11: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street (map). This week, RHB will be raising funds for Team In Training. Thanks to Miss Cherry Bottom they will have a HUGE raffle prize worth over $500 including gift cards, services and free tickets to Red Hots Burlesque. All the money raised from this raffle will go to fight leukemia and lymphoma. Red Hots Burlesque is committed to bringing you the best bump and grind and to be able to raise funds to help others puts that extra spin in their tassel! This week's performers will be Francine Dead, Sid Scenic, Delilah, Cherry Bottom, Dorian Faust, and Dottie Lux! 7:30pm. $5-$10 sliding scale. 21+.
- Also Friday: The Mischievous Maidens Show at the Skylark Bar in San Francisco, 3089 16th Street (map). Join the Mischievous Maidens burlesque troupe for a fun start to your weekend at the Skylark Bar with live burlesque and stand-up comedy! 8pm. No cover (free). 21+.
- Saturday, March 12: The Fella Fem Show's "Drag King, Rat Pack Tribute" at the White Horse Inn in Oakland, 6551 Telegraph Avenue (map). It's Fella Fem's Rat Pack Show featuring songs from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis, Jr. In addition to the fellas of Fella Fem, performers will include Lady Monster, Ooh La la Belly dance troupe, Mr. Bean, singer Rose Gardener, Kitten Von Quim, Gender Queer Society South Bay Drag Troupe, and Mister Monster! Doors at 7:30pm, show at 9. $10. 21+.
- Monday, March 14: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown Club in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue (map). It's Kingfish's birthday! And since it's the Hubba Hubba Revue's MC's birthday, Sparkly Devil and Zip the What-Is-It? will be guest hosting an all-star bash for everyone's favorite big drunk! Featuring Mynx d'Meanor, Madam Chartreuse, comedian Kevin Hancock, Miss Balla Fire, Bunny Pistol, Honey Lawless, Wiggy Darlington, Sid Scenic, Room for Cream, and McPuzo & Trotsky! Doors 9:00pm, show 10:15. $5. 21+.
