San Francisco Bay Area burlesque for the holiday week of December 21 to December 27, 2011

Christmas is coming up this Sunday, so this is the time of year when many shows take a break. Shows such as Red Hots Burlesque are dark until January.

But there are still some shows to see! The Hubba Hubba Revue will be working hard to see that you get your recommended weekly allowance of shimmies and shakes! They'll be involved in the non-holiday-themed That 90s Dance Party on Friday night at the DNA Lounge. They'll also be celebrating Boxing Day on Monday night at the Uptown Club in Oakland.

Baxtalo Drom -The Lucky Road will also be having their monthly show on Friday evening at Amnesia in San Francisco. Les Trois Petit Oiseaux Belly Dance Trio & the Douglas Martin Avatar Ensemble will be performing (Tweet, tweet, tweet!), along with JD Limelight, Molotov the sideshow performer. and others.

That's pretty much it until the following weekend, when there will be several New Year's Eve shows on the schedule.

• Friday, December 23: Baxtalo Drom - The Lucky Road at Amnesia in San Francisco, 853 Valencia Street (map). Sail away on a nautical voyage or come on down for some hobo luv! Plus great balkan beats, gypsy punk, bellydancers and burlesque! This month's show will include Les Trois Petit Oiseaux Belly Dance Trio & the Douglas Martin Avatar Ensemble, JD Limelight, Molotov, and Devine's Jug Band. With DJ Wolfgang von Cope. 9pm. $7 before 10pm, $10 after. 21+.
  


• Also Friday: That 90s Dance Party at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco, 375 11th Street (map). Join DJ Devon and the Hubba Hubba Revue for a night of the best dance music the 90s has to offer. Non-stop dancing to all your favorite 90s Rave, Alternative, Electronica, Pop, Rap, Rock, and more. Endless fun from underground cuts to cheesy hits. 90s themed performances at 11:30pm by Jenny Atomik, Grace Bones, Pickles Kintaro! Hosted by MC Kingfish and Comrade Tang! With the Hubba Hubba Teen-Spirit Go-Gos! 9pm. $7 before 10:30pm, $9 after. 21+.


• Monday, December 26: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown Club in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue (map). Celebrate Boxing Day with the Hubba Hubba Revue! Performers will include Seattle's Sailor St. Claire, Filthy Frank, Pearl E. Gates, Francine Mean, Sheba Queenofthenight, Patricia Misery, and introducing pole-acrobat Rochelle Trishell! With "Hooray!" card kitten Bunny Von Tail. Show hosted by Kingfish and Lee Presson! Doors at 9pm, show at 10:15pm. $5. 21+.
