San Francisco Bay Area burlesque for April 7 - April 13, 2011

There's a whole bunch of shows coming down the pike for the next few weeks, so I'll announce a change for the posting of events. Since there may be three or four shows for some nights coming up, I'll just post about one or two of them, depending on what seems appropriate. If you are a show producer or performer and would like your show highlighted with an individual posting, let me know via email, sfbr AT gmx DOT com. Thanks! And now on with this week's schedule!

Red Hots Burlesque is expanding their burlesque coverage this week, with their monthly "Go Deep" show starting at El Rio on Thursday, April 7. It'll be a lube wrestling show, with burlesque performances! Sounds fun! Then on Saturday, April 9, they'll mark the premiere of Dr. Sketchy's East Bay with an event at the Layover Lounge in Oakland. Their guests/models will be The Can-Cannibals! Woot! And, of course, their weekly show at El Rio will happen on Friday evening, as it usually does.

The Dangerous Curves Ahead vixens will be wrapping up their stay in this area of California on Thursday, before moving on to Mendocino and cities the very northern tip of the state. They'll be having a show Thursday night with Risk-A Cabaret at the Hopmonk Tavern in Sebastopol. It should be a great show in what used to be an abbey! Don't forget to wish Jodi of Risk-A Cabaret a happy birthday, too!

Curvicious Cabaret will be putting their second show together on Thursday at the Blue Macaw in San Francisco, which will be a tribute to George Carlin. This is a swell idea for a show with some very talented performers!

The High Rhythm Hustlers and Los Shimmy Shakers are having a couple of show this weekend that will highlight some of the local burlesque performers. So check out some of the shows in burlesque-friendly clubs!

Sunday will feature a show by the Naked Girls Reading San Francisco group which will highlight poetry and jazz. Their special jazz performer will be Ralph Carney! Check out their listing for a way to purchase advance tickets online. And remember that the Center for Sex and Culture has moved recently! The new address is in the event listing.

There's a lot of other shows happening this week. Bombshell Betty and Fromagique, The Mischievous Maidens, Séduction Féroce, and others will all be having shows. Check them all out below. Have a good time out there, and please be kind to one another. Have a good week! :-)
