San Francisco area burlesque for October 7 to October 13, 2010

This is the week that Sparkly Devil and Bones get married! After their private ceremony on Sunday, the happy couple will celebrate at Monday's Hubba Hubba Revue show at the Uptown. It'll be an All-Star Wedding Hangover Show with special guests Vivienne VaVoom, Lola Martinet, and Twinkletoes McGee from out of town. Plus a special performance from the newlyweds! Hooray!

But before then, there's quite a few shows happening on Friday. There's the weekly Red Hots show at El Rio, which this week will include debuts from Jenna Riot and Diva Hollywood (from the U.K.!), plus performances by the Living Legend of Burlesque, Isis Starr, and Mae Western and Dottie Lux!

After the show, Dottie Lux and Isis Starr will be heading down the coast to Pacifica to appear in sASSy's Seaside Burlesque at Winters Tavern. It's a relatively short drive, and it looks like a great lineup this month!

Also on Friday, the Mischievous Maidens will be welcoming their special guests Bucky Sinister and Vaudie VaVoom to the Skylark Bar. Like sASSy's show, there's no cover, so it's a great way to spend a Friday evening, even if you're low on funds!

Speaking of being low on funds, Bombshell Betty and Fromagique will be having their Burlesque Spook-Tacular Benefit at the Elbo Room in San Francisco next Tuesday. It's a benefit show for those unemployed, underemployed, or otherwise struggling Bay Area performers. It will feature performances by Betty's students and alumni, the Burlesqueteers, and live music from Fromagique.

Also happening Tuesday will be Séduction Féroce at Era Art Bar in Oakland. There's a huge lineup, with performers such as Vienna La Rouge, Kitty Von Quim, Opheila Coeur de Noir, Josie Starre, Cupcake, and more, so it's chock full of talent! Lots of show, for not a lot of dough! The cover is only $5.00.

Last but not least, there's Le Boy at the White Horse Bar in Oakland on Saturday night. If you're looking for some drag and queer burlesque, Le Boy is where it's at!

• Also Friday: Mischievous Maidens at the Skylark Bar in San Francisco, 3089 16th Street. Join Gingersnap, Kitty Coquette, Lady X, who will be rump-shaking and mind-blowing! This month's special guests include Bucky Sinister and Vaudie VaVoom! With host Leeland 8pm. No cover, 21+.
  


• Also Friday: sASSy's Seaside Burlesque at Winters Tavern in Pacifica, 1522 Francisco Boulevard. Join host Odessa Lil for a spooky show and ghoulish cast of sexy sirens including Isis Starr, Miss Balla Fire, Dottie Lux, Ruby White, Bunny Pistol, and sASSy Hotbuns herself! With stage kitten Annie Oakland! Doors at 8pm, show at 9. No cover, but donations are welcome. 21+.


• Saturday, October 9: Le Boy at the White Horse Bar in Oakland, 6551 Telegraph Avenue. Join Dicky Luv for all-star drag & queer burlesque! Featuring Suppositori Spelling, TwinkleToes McGee, Mitchell Brothers, Blaze Cummings, Dante DeMoan, Vera DeVille, Cemora, and Genie. Doors at 7pm, show at 8:30. $10, 21+.


• Monday, October 11: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown Club in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue. Help celebrate the marriage of Sparkly Devil and Bones with this All-Star Wedding Hangover Show! Starring Revolva from Portland, Vivienne Vavoom from Denver, Lola Martinet from Chicago, Twinkletoes McGee from Detroit, and local favorites Lady Satan, Kiss Me Kate, Honey Lawless, and introducing the newest Mr. and Mrs., the newlyweds, Sparkly Devil & Bones! With Zip the What-Is-It?! Doors at 9pm, show at 10:15. $5, 21+ .


• Tuesday, October 12: Séduction Féroce at Era Art Bar in Oakland, 19 Grand Avenue. Séduction Féroce is a burlesque cabaret variety show that happens every second Tuesday of the month at Era Art Bar. This months show will feature performances by Kitty Von Quim, Sheba, Billie Boudoir, Vienna La Rouge, Josie Starre, Patricia Misery,
  Eve Devlin, Violetta de la Flamme, Ophelia, Cupcake, Twinkle Toes McGee, Sunny Sin,
  Megajoule, and Pepe Pan & Vegas Jake. Doors at 8pm, show at 9. $5, 21+.


• Also Tuesday: Bombshell Betty's Burlesque Spook-Tacular Benefit at the Elbo Room in San Francisco, 647 Valencia Street. Help struggling Bay Area performers while seeing some hot, hot burlesque at a cool venue! Over the past two years, Bombshell Betty and Fromagique have raised over $6,000. This month, see sexy-spooky-silly performances by Bombshell Betty and her students, the Burlesqueteers! With Bombshell Betty, Red Velvet, Dangerous Delilah, Cinnamon Stick, Sindee Rose, Cherry Chapstick, Sugar Tart, Madona May Hemm, Pickles Kintaro, and solo debuts from Andi Stardust and some Burlesqueteers so new, they don't have stage names!
