Isis Starr performs at Red Hots and sASSy's Seaside Burlesque shows this Friday, October 8

Living Legend of Burlesque Isis Starr will be performing this Friday evening at two shows: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco at 7:30 p.m., and sASSy's Seaside Burlesque at Winters Tavern in Pacifica at 9:00 p.m.

Isis got the desire to start dancing burlesque after seeing the film Gypsy. Up until then, she was studying ballet. After a few more years of performing ballet, she started dancing in North Beach at the Condor Club, and the rest is burlesque history! She's performed around the world—twice on a g-string, as she often says—on all of the Earth's continents except for Antarctica. She's performed at the Crazy Horse and the Moulin Rouge in Paris, The Windmill Theater and Paul Raymond Revue Bar in London, the Copacabana Club in Tokyo, and many more around the globe.

If you're in the Bay Area this Friday night, you won't have to travel far to see Isis perform. Starting out the evening, she'll be performing at Red Hots Burlesque. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., but it's a relatively small club, so get there early to get a good seat! And you'll want to sample some of the barbecue available on the patio. El Rio has been voted "Best Happy Hour" in the San Francisco Bay Guardian's Best of the Bay poll several years running!

This week, also performing will be Diva Hollywood, visiting from the United Kingdom! Plus, Jenna Riot makes her Red Hots Burlesque debut. Miss Mae Western and RHB's Dottie Lux round out the evening's performers.
