San Francisco area burlesque for the week of May 4, 2009

After a flurry of activity last week, there's still some opportunities this week to see some shaking and shimmying this week. From the weekly Uptown Hubba Hubba and Red Hots Burlesque shows, to seeing the Hot Pink Feathers come down the rotunda staircase at San Francisco City Hall, to a special Mother's Day Spookshow-A-Go-Go, there's enough shows spread throughout the week to satisfy your Burly-Qravings. ;-)

• Monday, May 4, 2009: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue. Don't let the showers keep you from helping celebrate Chi Chis del Fuego's birthday! She'll shimmy and shake for ya along with The Bombshells, Gia Haad, Francine Dead, sASSy Hotbuns, Madam Chartreuse, Vagabondage, and Rose, Zeb & Genevieve! Doors at 9pm, show at 10:15ish. $5, 21+ w/ID.


• Wednesday, May 6: Carnaval Reception featuring the Hot Pink Feathers at San Francisco City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place. See 10+ Feathers process down the rotunda staircase & dance at its foot! Unimaginably breathtaking, so bring your cameras! Between 5:30pm and 7:30. Free! All ages.
  


• Friday, May 8: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street. Dottie Lux brings you a different show every single week! Each event promises the seductive and spicy, absurd and amusing all from local and visiting talent. Show at 7:30pm. $5-10 sliding scale, 21+ w/ID.


• Sunday, May 10: Spookshow-A-Go-Go at The Stud in SF, 399 9th Street. Join Lux Killmore Productions as they celebrate Mother's Day the only way they know how! See a screening of Mommie Dearest, and performances by Lady Satan, Dottie Lux, Mariel a la Mode, and Lady Monster. With host Simone de la Getto and DJ Miz Margo and special guest of honor Isis Starr. 6:30pm. Free for mothers and before 8pm. $7 after, 21+ w/ID.
