Celebrate the 4th of July holiday with Red Hots Burlesque this week

It's the 4th of July holiday, and there will be a Red Hots Burlesque show tonight! And to round out the week, there will be a Go Deep lube wrestling show on Thursday night and the second Red Hots show on Friday evening! All events will be at El Rio in San Francisco!

So celebrate the holiday with Red Hots and their performers this week, including Kiss Me Kate, Reecy Pontiff, Hella Kitty, and Elyse Elaine tonight, and  Patricia Misery, Nicki Sparxx, Ada Lavendar, Last Night's Fling, Minnie Cupcakes, and Dixie DeLish on Friday! RHB's Dottie Lux will host both shows, with a special 4th of July co-host Dave Clay tonight!

El Rio is located at 3158 Mission Street in San Francisco (map). Both shows on Wednesday and Friday evenings start at 7:30 p.m., though you may want to get there early to get a seat, or you may reserve a spot by emailing redhotsburlesque@gmail.com so you don't miss out! About our featured performer:
Dixie DeLish the “Burlesque OutLaw”, is a bright new star of the San Francisco Burlesque scene. She first started in 2009 and has become a regular featured performer in the Bay Area. Among various shows, she is a continuous lead performer at the Hubba Hubba Revue’s monthly show Cabaret Perilous. She just performed at the 2012 Tease O Rama Burlesque Festival, and has also graced the stage multiple times at Red Hots Burlesque, First Friday Follies, Club Delux, and Kinky Salon. She is also an annual performer at the Lagunitas Beer Circus. Dixie DeLish has extensive training by various burlesque artists including Kellita of the Hot Pink Feathers, Molotov, Ava Garter, Alotta Boutte, Dirty Martini, and World Famous Bob just to name a few. Dixie has a deep seated love of Burlesque, and aspires become a major player in the burlesque world though both performance and instruction. Dixie DeLish is “The Down-home Deep-Fried burlesque beauty with with Sass, Class, and an Ass that can’t be missed”!

About our debuts:
Born right here in San Francisco and raised in Oregon, Circus and comedy have always been a driving force in Dave Clay's life. He began performing in high school as a street performer and has never stopped. Gracing stages across the country, he has been featured at the Cleveland Playhouse Square, Comedy Works, The Kennedy Center and The New Victory Theater in New York. Currently Dave tours nationally with the critically acclaimed "Squirm Burpee", produced by the Handsome Little Devils.

A Blond and Brunette, and a Redhead- This triple threat trio will tease you till the end. Known for their Flirtatious, Glamorous, Funky, and sometimes Gruesome Style they’ll make you remember why burlesque Rocks! The original members of Last Night’s Fing; Dixie DeLish, Penny Lux, and Siren Sapphire, will entertain, delight, and shock you with their tantalizing playfulness. Occasionally they have been known to have guest performers join their routines for a surprise cameo. Among these, performers have been Tricky Dicky von Finestein, Johnny Crash, and Cupcake. They are regular performers in the Bay Area for the Hubba Hubba Revue, First Friday Follies, and Kinky Salon.

Reecy Pontiff has been on the stage from a very young age. In her late teens she discovered that if she infused her songs with humor, she could turn angst in audience hilarity, and has spent the past 10 years honing that craft, most recently on the ukulele. She entered into the vibrant New Orleans burlesque scene two years ago, and since then has been involved as MC and musical guest in 30+ burlesque and cabaret shows, such as Slow Burn Burlesque, the Storyville Starlettes, Bella Blue's Burlesque 101, Queerlesque and more. Last summer she earned her beer money by serenading the Germans with "Jailhouse Rock" on the streets of Berlin. She also produced the Cocksure Cabaret -- wherein she portrayed Elvis Presley -- and most recently the Tommygun Wedding, in which a couple were legally married live and on-stage by a dancer as the closing act for the show. Reecy is currently on an extended tour of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Her new album, "The Fabulous Sideshow Apocalypse" is available on iTunes. And on Thursday, July 5, Red Hots Burlesque and El Rio present Go Deep: Let's Wrestle, which is women's lube wrestling and burlesque.

This month, the hostess will be Alotta Boutté, the burlesque perfomers will include Dottie Lux and Elyse Elaine, and the wrestlers will include participants from The Lusty Lady, Thrillpeddlers, Team in Training, and perhaps you! This week will feature a change in the reign of Red Hots Burlesque's featured performer of the month! At Wednesday's May 30 show, the featured performer will still be Ruby Vixen, but at Friday's June 1 show, it'll be Bunny Pistol!

Fans flock to Bunny Pistol’s popular monthly show Barbary Coast Burlesque, established and running since 2006 and is currently at the world famous jazz venue Yoshi's, located in San Francisco's historical Fillmore district.
Bunny Pistol has been twirling tassels since 2006 and has continued to captivate audiences all over the US, England, Scotland, and France. She is a natural performer and has been studying dance since the age of 5. She was also a finalist for the Miss Viva Las Vegas Competition in 2008. She has performed in other major shows such as Viva Las Vegas, The Burlesque Hall of Fame, and Tease O' Rama.

On Thursday, December 15, RHB's School of Shimmy will be conducting a Burlesque 101 class at Tease Me Boutique in Berkeley!

It'll be a beginners class perfect for those just getting started in burlesque. You'll learn some of the history of burlesque, some basic choreography, and the importance of attitude and developing a stage persona.

This week, Red Hots Burlesque will be welcoming Chicago's award-winning Dolls of Doom to the stage at El Rio in San Francisco this week!

On Wednesday, August 24, performers will include Uni and Her Ukelele, Nicki Sparxx, Oleander Moon, Sheba Queen of the Night, Shakey Gibson, and Dottie Lux!

On Friday, August 26, the show will feature Andi Stardust, Delilah, Monifa, Trixxie Carr, and from Chicago's Dolls of Doom Teddy Bare and Tila Von Twirl!

Both shows will start at 7:30 p.m. at El Rio, which is located at 3158 Mission Street in San Francisco (map). The cost of entry is on a sliding scale from $5.00 to $10.00.

Memorial Day burlesque with Red Hots at the Uptown's Hubba Hubba Revue show

This Monday night, May 30, celebrate Memorial Day with the Red Hots Burlesque School of Shimmy as they perform at the Hubba Hubba Revue show at the Uptown Club in Oakland!

Dottie Lux is bringing some of the alumni and faculty of her School of Shimmy to help heat up the Bay Area on the unofficial beginning of summer. She'll also be hosting the show! See Alotta Boutté, AJ Molecular, Francine Dead, Nicki Sparxx, The Pink Secret, and Tali Tart shake and shimmy!

And if you're interested in taking classes with Dottie and her instructors at the School of Shimmy, check out the classes starting in June at www.redhotsburlesque.com. There's a Burlesque 101 class that starts on June 7 at Virococha in San Francisco, a class on coping with stage anxiety that's being taught by Scotty the Blue Bunny on June 14, and a class on developing ultimate self-confidence taught by The World Famous *BOB* on June 19. This Friday will see a celebration of Dottie Lux's (over) 25th birthday at Red Hots Burlesque in San Francisco and the return of Risk-A Cabaret with a Mardi Gras show in Sebastopol!

Red Hots Burlsque show for Friday, February 18, plus RHB news!

Red Hots Burlesque has some big news! They already are San Francisco's only weekly burlesque show every Friday (The Hubba Hubba Revue has Oakland's every Monday night), but RHB will be expanding to two days a week! This will happen in May, so the details are still scarce, but it appears the Wednesday show will also be at El Rio in San Francisco. Dottie Lux has also announced that their Go DEEP shows were very successful and will be happening monthly, with the next one on April 7 with lube wrestling! Once again, details will be announced soon.

All classes are open to students of any age or gender who want to shake it on stage or in the bedroom. No previous dance or performance experience is required. Feb 28th 7-9pm, Million Fishes Gallery- Pastie Making and Tassel Twirling: How do we do it?! Impress and amaze with the art of tassel twirling. In the first hour we will go over the history of tassel twirling and you will make your very own pair of pasties with tassels. No materials fees. Supplies will be provided, but if you have a pair of scissors and/or a hot glue gun; bring it! The second hour of class will teach you those much desired and sought out moves to get those tatas-a-twirlin'! We will go over several different methods and find which option works best for you. Be prepared to wear pasties on your body. The class is a safe and respectful environment where students should feel free to toss their inhibitions aside.

This Friday night will be your opportunity to bid Risk-A Cabaret "bon voyage" as they'll take a break from putting on shows for a while. The show will be at Aubergine After Dark in Sebastopol, which is located at 755 Petaluma Avenue (map). The sendoff will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Rose Harden has been an active member of the San Francisco Belly Dance community since 1999 and was long time member of Ultra Gypsy, the premier innovative Belly Dance Theater Company from San Francisco.
Rose has been honored to spend many years serving as assistant director to Jill Parker, a huge influence and innovator in the Tribal Fusion movement. During her years as co-director, Rose was a creative force in the company's costuming and dynamic choreography. Jill's new project the Fox Glove Sweethearts continues to showcase choreography and costuming from Rose's time with Ultra Gypsy.

Uptown Hubba Hubba three-year anniversary on Monday, November 1

Is it possible that it's been three years since the Hubba Hubba Revue has brought weekly burlesque to the Uptown Nightclub in Oakland? Well, I guess it is!

Join your old friends Kingfish and Eddie and the rest of the Hubba Hubba Revue cast and crew for a celebration of epic proportions!
