This will be a short post, as I've volunteered to help set up the Burlesque Bazaar tomorrow morning. But these are some of my thoughts and observations on what's happened so far.
- The hotel pool area was a popular destination among attendees. Drinks and sunscreen lotion were flowing freely in the desert sun. There wasn't much to do before the show tonight, so that's where most of the action happened during the day.
- More of the SF Bay Area burlesque participants have arrived, with several more due in tomorrow. RJ Johnson and Johnny Crash were taking photographs at the show tonight, which means there may be some photos on the way.
- Speaking of the Movers, Shakers, and Innovators show, there were many memorable acts. One of them involved an unraveling outfit, Jonny Porkpie had a humorous routine including the soundtrack of a couple doing play-by-play of his act as if it were a sporting event. Clams Casino had a shadow-based act that ended up with her breaking through a silhouette that she had drawn on a simulated mirror frame. Miss Mary Cyn had a Joker-themed act set to the song, "People Are Strange."And of course, our own Kingfish of the Hubba Hubba Revue gave his usual outstanding performance as one of the emcees.
- Tomorrow is a bigger, full day as I start off volunteering at the Burlesque Bazaar at 9:45 a.m.. There are some daytime things to do, such as autograph session, Then the day wraps up with the big "Titans of Tease" Burlesque Reunion Showcase in the evening with a screening of "Exotic World and the Burlesque Revival."
