Dr. Sketchy's SF presents Sister Kate
Sister Kate is a genre-crossing belly dance burlesque trio from San Francisco that consists of three bad ass bombshells: Wendy Darling, Sarah Campbell, and Ashley Blair. All three ladies toured as company members of the well known tribal fusion belly dance troupe Ultra Gypsy before branching off to become bellydance's new sweethearts, Sister Kate. Together, they've developed a unique blend of sexy, whimsical belly dance cabaret, informed by the traditions of both tribal fusion belly dance and classic burlesque. Their theatrical performances, atypical costuming, and provocative blending of dance genres have been wowing audiences around the Bay Area. They are regulars at the Hubba Hubba Revue, have brought down the house at the SF Mecca Immersion, and hammed it up at the Love Parade 2008 VIP gala in San Francisco's city hall. They also produce the popular monthly gypsy cabaret Baxtalo Drom - The Lucky Road, where they are showcased every fourth Friday at Amnesia in San Francisco's Mission district. In addition, they perform regularly at private parties, weddings, benefits, and local burlesque shows. You won't want to miss New Years 2009 with these three saucy senoritas!
Wendy Darling, a golden-haired California native, began her performance career as a fire dancer, and was the lead costumer for Ultra Gypsy. Sarah Campbell, a cute-as-a-button spitfire from Florida, studied with Mahsati and Cerice Janan and danced with the Bal Fahjar troupe before relocating to San Francisco. The smoldering, green-eyed Ashley Blair taught dance classes in Chicago and was formally a member of the dance companies Tribalesque and Maya before moving to the bay area. All three ladies studied with local diva Jill Parker.

What is Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School?
Dr Sketchy's is an international drawing phenomenon.
In San Francisco, Dr Sketchy's gives you a monthly opportunity to draw rhinestone encrusted burlesque performers, bearded ladies, cute girls on bicycles and anything else we can conjure up to tantalize your pencils.
Dr. Sketchy's is the little Brooklyn event that became a movement. Founded in 2005 by artist Molly Crabapple, Dr. Sketchy's asked a simple question. Why can't drawing naked people be sexy?
