It's Halloween week, so you know that there will be lots of themed shows this week in San Francisco burlesque!
There's the big Lucha VaVOOM (
www.luchavavoom.com) show at the Fillmore on Friday, October 30. Lucha VaVOOM is a combination of burlesque and Mexican wrestling, and this year they have a Halloween-themed show featuring burlesque acts performed to the music of The Cramps. Among the burlesque performers will be L.A.'s Moana Santana, Lux La Croix and the famed tassel-twister Lucy Fur. Miss Exotic World 2005, Michelle L'amour, will join the Buxoticas along with San Francisco's own Roky Roulette, the world's only pogo striptease artist! Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob Squarepants among others, will be one of the ringside commentators along with former San Franciscan Blaine Capatch. And with Los Crazy Chickens battling the venomous Mexican goatsucker Chupacabra and his new hatchlings, the Chupacabritas, you've got yourself a unique entertainment proposition!
Also on Friday, Hubba Hubba Revue (
www.hubbahubbarevue.com) is teaming up with Death Guild, Meat, and the DNA Lounge for All Hallow's Eve, a night of electro, gothic, industrial, and 80s music along with burlesque from Miss Balla Fire, Madam Chartreuse, and Ariyana La Fey. And don't forget that Monday starts off with Uptown Hubba Hubba in Oakland where the special guest burlesque troupes will be Jellyfish Kiss and the Devil-Ettes!
Also, on Thursday, October 29, Hubba Hubba Revue's Kingfish will be hosting Rock, Strip, and Roll at Rouge in San Francisco. There will be rock with Live Evil, Electric Vagina, and Gods of Rock. Providing the burlesque will be Honey Lawless, the Hot Pink Feathers, Tiger Von Claus, and Kiss Me Kate!
Thrillville (
www.thrillville.net) is bringing their Halloween show Gore 'n' Snorefest on Thursday to the Balboa Theater. Lady Monster will be the burlesque entertainment, while The Deadlies will provide live music. The two films on the bill are
Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers (1988) and
Zontar, the Thing from Venus (1966). Sounds like a full evening of entertainment with Will the Thrill and Monica Tiki Goddess!
And although I don't have the show update yet, I'm sure Red Hots Burlesque will have a special Halloween show on Friday. The twisted minds behind
FEED have got to have an equally twisted, yet sexy, show for all of us burly-q thrillseekers!
