San Francisco area burlesque for the week of October 12, 2009

Time's a flyin'! It's almost Halloween, which means it's almost time to break out those costumes! Aw heck, get them out already because this month's Barbary Coast Burlesque on Wednesday is having a costume contest! Win prizes and get some drink specials!

Then on Saturday, Hubba Hubba Revue is getting together with the folks from Shmaltz Brewing Company t0 release Coney Island Freaktoberfest(TM)! Nothing says welcome to October like a cold Freaktoberfest. :-P

I don't know if there will be any costume contests or beer introductions at Uptown Hubba Hubba, Red Hots Burlesque, or Debauchery, but wouldn't it be fun to show up in a dirndl, long braids, and empty beer steins? Ha ha!

• Monday, October 12: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue. This week, Kingfish and Eddie welcome Delilah, Bunny von Tail, Brenden von Tail, Penny Lux, Tippe Canoe, Najee Renee, and Violet Skedaddle! Plus,
  Zip the What-Is-It? will make an appearance! Doors at 9pm, show at 10:15ish. $5, 21+ w/ID.


• Wednesday, October 14: Barbary Coast Burlesque at Annie's Social Club in San Francisco, 917 Folsom Street. Wear a costume, win a prize and get drink specials! Join host Virginia Suicide and your BCB dancers for this month, Mae Western, Cupcake, Kitty Von Quimm, Honey Penny, The Flying Fox, Delilah, Balla Fire, Bunny Pistol, sASSy Hotbuns, Ruby White, and appearing after a year long hiatus, Peaches Velour!! And be sure to wish her well on her new life in Smell-A, Tinky Sparkle!!! Show at 8pm. $5, 21+ w/ID.


• Friday, October 16: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in SF, 3158 Mission Street. Dottie Lux brings you a different show every single week! Each event promises the seductive and spicy, absurd and amusing all from local and visiting talent. Show at 7:30pm. $5-10 sliding scale, 21+ w/ID.


• Saturday, October 17: Coney Island Lager Freaktoberfest with Hubba Hubba Revue at Bender's Bar and Grill in SF, 806 South Van Ness Aveue. Shmaltz Brewing Company proudly releases the 2nd coming of a bewitching offering of the season: Coney Island Freaktoberfest(TM). Celebrate the release of this delicious brew with the Hubba Hubbas and Bunny Pistol, Honey Lawless, Sid Scenic, and Pin Key Lee! Hosted by MC Kingfish, with a special Appearance by Savage Man-Beast, Zip the What-Is-It?! 7pm til 9pm. $5, 21+ w/ID.


• Sunday, October 18: Debauchery at White Horse Inn in Oakland, 6555 Telegraph Avenue. A stripclub for queers of all genders! Featuring an enticing selection of salaciously smoldering strippers, $10 Lap dances and naughty raffle prizes! Doors at 7pm, show at 8. $5-15 cover; all proceeds benefit organizations working in the queer community.
