Because of their unique position as the only student-led, campus-based burlesque troupes in the country, they've drawn media attention. Articles in the New Paltz Oracle and the Times Herald-Record have described how and why the troupe formed. Led by producer Lucida Sans, Alpha Psi Ecdysia has performed in New York, Boston, Albany, and New Paltz, and APE is on their first West Coast tour with stops in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
I met many of the performers at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend in Las Vegas. They're personable, informed about burlesque, and very enthusiastic. I'm quite excited to see them perform this week. How can you not be impressed by a group of student performers who managed to attain funds from a university to travel to Las Vegas for Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend?
