SF Bay Area burlesque for the week of November 3, 2008

Hope everyone had a great Halloween. But now it's time to get to business. Time to vote on Tuesday, so you'll need to bone up on the issues and candidates. But that doesn't mean it'll be all work and no play, does it? Take some time out before the election, and celebrate after Tuesday with some good old-fashioned, new-fangled burlesque this week!

• Monday, November 3: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown Nightclub in Oakland. Hey! It's my pal sASSy Hotbuns' birthday! So join sASSy and her friends, Kiss Me Kate, Bunny Pistol, Lady Satan, Miss Balla Fire, Miss de Minna, Madam Chartreuse, and Dottie Lux as we celebrate the sASSy one's birthday in style! Doors at 9pm, show at 10ish. $5, 21+w/ID.
• Friday, November 7: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in SF. Dottie Lux brings you a different show every single week! Each event promises the seductive and spicy, absurd and amusing all from local and visiting talent. Show at 7:30. $5-10 sliding scale, 21+ w/ID.
• Also Friday: First Friday Follies at the Stork Club in Oakland. Join the Belles du Jour as they top off the Oakland Art Walk with a burlesque show to tickle your fancy. Featuring Margaret France, Marie La Faux, Charlie Starr, the Gomorrans, Frederique, and others! 9pm. Free, 21+ w/ID.
