SF Bay Area burlesque for the week of February 16, 2009

It's post-Valentine's Day week, and I bet you're all loved out! But wait! Guess what's coming up. Yes, it's Mardi Gras! Plus Red Hots Burlesque is celebrating their one year anniversary! So grab your sweetie again and check out a burlesque show!

• Monday, February 16, 2009: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue. Get yer cheeseheads and wands out, as it's the return of Fromagique!. Bombshell Betty and her Burlesqueteers will join the Fromagettes and Sneak-a-Peek Sally, Red Velvet, Scarlett Fever, Holly Highbeams, and Bourbon Lee for a raucous start to the week. $5, 21+ w/ID.
• Friday, February 20: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street. Red Hots Burlesque celebrates its one year anniversary honoring the Cramps! Featuring Dottie Lux, Virginia Suicide, Ruby White, Lady Satan, Citty Rich and Lady Monster. Also includes a screening of Cramps Live from Napa State Mental Hospital, brought to you by Val Kilmore. Show at 7:30pm. $5-10 sliding scale, 21+ w/ID.
• Also Friday: Hubba Hubba Revue: Mardi Gras! at DNA Lounge in SF, 375 11th Street. Colonel Kingfish and Levee Dane invite y'all to a night of Sexy Circumstances from the Sultry Side of The Big Easy! It's Burlesque, New Orleans-style! With the Hot Pink Feathers Parade Corps, Miss Balla Fire, Madam Chartreuse, Alotta Boutte, Sister Kate, Miss de Minna, Twilight Vixen Revue, Lola Vauntz, Whitney Moses, Bunny Pistol, Tinky Sparkle, The Flying Fox, Lady Satan, Cupcake, Rubensque Burlesque, and Gorilla X and the Hubba Hubba Go-Go Revellers!
