San Francisco Bay Area burlesque for the week of August 4, 2008

Yeeee haww! This week features some real bargains, as far as burlesque shows go. On Thursday, the SF Bay Guardian weekly has their free party celebrating their 2008 Best of the Bay winners. Tease-O-Rama is presenting a show, plus there will be a lot of other stuff going on at 1015 Folsom that evening.

Then, Saturday features the long-awaited Sugar Shack SF burlesque show and dance party. This one is only $5. Dancing and burlesque dancers, a winning combination if there ever was one! Hehe.

Also, there are shows available for $5 from Uptown Hubba Hubba and Red Hots Burlesque. And for just a couple of bucks more, you can catch the Hot Pink Feathers and Blue Bone Express on Saturday in Oakland. Woooo!

So grab your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, best friend, or even worst enemy and head out for a night of affordable fun!

• Monday, August 4: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown Club in Oakland. Darlinda Just Darlinda guest stars with Lady Satan, Scotty the Blue Bunny, and others! Doors at 9pm, show at 10. $5 cover, 21+ w/ID.


• Thursday, August 7: SF Bay Guardian 2008 Best of the Bay at 1015 Folsom in San Francisco. The Devil-Ettes, Twilight Vixen Revue, Sparkly Devil and Drunkle Sam perform, among others. Doors at 8pm, show at 8:30. Free!


• Friday, August 8: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco. Dottie Lux brings you a show promising the seductive and spicy, absurd and amusing. Show at 7:30pm. $5-10 sliding scale, 21+ w/ID.


• Saturday, August 9: Burlesque 'N' Brass at Cafe Van Kleef in Oakland. The Hot Pink Feathers and Blue Bone Express perform three sets each. Doors at 8:30pm, show at 9:30. $10, 21+ w/ID.


• Also Saturday: Sugar Shack SF at the Elbo Room in San Francisco. The debut of a burlesque show and dance party brought to you by Lady Satan, Ruby White, DJ Sergio Iglesias, and DJ Matt Bonar. Doors at 10pm, show at 11. $5, 21+ w/ID.
