Kentucky Fried Spelling Bee at Bench and Bar on Sunday, January 29

The Kentucky Fried Woman show gets into the A-B-Cs of life with the Kentucky Fried Spelling Bee at Oakland's Bench and Bar tonight!

The crew is back for their first show of 2012, with FemC Starr 69, stage daddy Billy "the Poof" Elliot, and dj dandy g! There's a plethora of guest stars, including Titland, Red Hots Burlesque's Dottie Lux, Alotta Boutté, and many more! See below for the full talent lineup.

The Bench and Bar is located at 510 17th Street in Oakland (map). The doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the show starts at 7:30. Entry to the show is $10.00.

Chicken burlesque at Red Hots Burlesque this week, plus The Shanghai Pearl teaches at School of Shimmy

This week at Red Hots Burlesque, catch the latest in chicken burlesque! Yes, this Friday's show will be "Cluck be a Lady," and it will feature performances by the troupe Le Cancan Bijou, Vaudie Va Boom, Nomy Lamm, Kiss Me Kate, and Titland!

Tonight's show will have La Chica Boom, the New Eccentrics, Ruby Vixen, Laika Fox, Ellliot Contortion, and Dottie Lux! According to the information provided, chickens will not be ready until Friday, though.

Both shows will start at 7:30 p.m. at El Rio in San Francisco, which is located at 3158 Mission Street (map). The shows are generally a bit less than 90 minutes, so they should end by 9:00 p.m. Entry is on a sliding scale, so it'll be from $5.00 to $10.00 to get into the showroom.

Back from the holiday vacation for just over a week and needing relief? We're here, like a big hug, with two all star shows this week. One has bending brawny bucks, bump and grinding hotmamas and eccentric artists and the other "Cluck be a Lady" is an all classy chicken burlyQ. Feast on all the breast, leg and thigh. Red Hots Burlesque this Friday, April 22, plus School of Shimmy class on Monday

This Friday evening, join Dottie Lux at Red Hots Burlesque, where each week she brings the spiciest and best burlesque to the stage at El Rio in San Francisco. And starting May 4, she'll be bringing that burlesque at least two times a week: Wednesdays and Fridays! And she's also in charge of Red Hots Burlesque's School of Shimmy!

But for now, let's get back to this week's show. This Friday, Red Hots welcomes a burlesque tap-dancing duo, Titland. Titland is composed of the Kentucky Fried Woman and Starr69. Also performing will be Séduction Féroce's producer, Sheba Queen of the Night. The incredible Francine Dead will be shimmying and shaking, as will Tali Tart and the iconic Alotta Boutté! The Kentucky Fried Woman Show returns to Oakland this Sunday, March 6

She's back in all her finger-lickin' greatness! Yes, The Kentucky Fried Woman Show returns to Oakland with "Kentucky Fried Woman's All You Can Eat Buffet: A Smorgasbord of Queer Performance" this Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Bench and Bar, 510 17th Street (map).

This time, the show will be at a venue that is close to the 19th Street BART station for all of us who take the train into the East Bay. The Bench & Bar is located close to Cafe Van Kleef and the Uptown Club, where other burlesque shows happen.

On Sunday, join KFW's Titland, birthday girl Dottie Lux, Lyric Styles, Alotta Boutté, special guest dd cummings and other stars for a rollicking show filled with burlessque, comedy, music, and fun! And afterwards, dance, dance, dance to the groovy tunes of DJ Dandy G! Sunday evenings don't have to be the end of the weekend, they can be just the start!

Cabaret Perilous and Rebel Cupcake in Oakland on Friday, January 28

This Friday, there will be burlesque in Oakland! In fact, there will be two shows which you can probably attend back-to-back.

The first is Rebel Cupcake, which will be at the Bench and Bar located at 510 17th Street (map), which is located just a few blocks from the Uptown Club where Cabaret Perilous will be happening. In fact, the Rebel Cupcake show will start at 9:00 p.m. and is scheduled to end at 10:00, which is when Cabaret Perilous will start!
