Hot Pink Feathers will dance at SF Carnaval's Grand Parade this Sunday, May 29

Just a quick reminder that the Hot Pink Feathers will be dancing to the music of the Hot Pink Feathers All Star Band this Sunday morning in the SF Carnaval's Grand Parade in the Mission! The theme this year is "Live Your Fantasy."

The parade will start at 9:30 a.m., so it could be an early start for those of you who stay out late on Saturday night. The parade route will start at 24th and Bryant Streets. There is a Google Map of the parade route that the organizers have put together for your convenience. A good place to see them is where the parade route turns at 24th and Mission Streets. If you'd like to hang with the Feathers before the parade, they'll be staging near 2230 Bryant Street, starting at 9:00 a.m. They'll be #47 out of 65 contingents, so you can plan accordingly.

After the parade, the Feathers will be at Casnova's Carnaval at Casanova Lounge, which is at 527 Valencia Street in San Francisco (map). They'll perform somewhere between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. Also spinning tunes until 2:00 a.m. will be GOSTOSA & BRAZA Djs! For more information, you may visit the Facebook Event Page.

Don't forget your sunscreen and some water! Both can come in handy if you're standing outside for several hours!

San Francisco Bay Area burlesque for May 26 - June 1, 2011

This week's schedule will feature a unique show, a holiday favorite, and the return of a burlesque show from the past.

This Thursday will see the return of Bombshell Betty's Haute House Burlesque with Bombshell Betty's Burlesqueteers at Milk Bar in San Francisco. It's been over two years since the last Haute House Burlesque show, and this one will continue on the fourth Thursday of each month. It will be in addition to Bombshell Betty's other shows at the Elbo Room in San Francisco and the Uptown Club in Oakland.

It's Memorial Day, so it's time for San Francisco's Carnaval Grand Parade! So that means that the Hot Pink Feathers will be dancing up a storm come Sunday in the Mission District. They'll be #47 of 65, so make sure to keep an eye out for them if you go to the parade! And afterwards, they'll be at an after party at the Casanova Lounge at 527 Valencia.

The San Francisco Sex Worker Festival will be presenting the Get the Money Up Front Cabaret at SOMArts on Friday evening. This event will feature Alotta Boutté, The Stripping Granny, and Lady Monster, among many other talented artists.

Red Hots Burlesque will be involved in three shows this week! There's Friday and Wednesday's weekly shows, but they'll also be at the Hubba Hubba Revue's show on Monday night at the Uptown Club for a School of Shimmy alumni show!

And speaking of the Hubba Hubba Revue, they'll have their monthly Cabaret Perilous at the Uptown Club in Oakland. It's a show that tends towards a bit more extreme acts, including sideshow performers such as the Displayed Labors Sideshow, contortionist Nobutaka and even musical group Lee Presson's Fistful of Nails!

Finally, Australia's Baby Blue Bergman will be performing at Baxtalo Drom's The Lucky Road Show on Friday evening, as will Karoline BellyBrass! So that's a show you may want to check out if you're in the area.

Come and see what the excitement is all about! With performances by La Chica Boom, Honey Lawless, Kentucky Fried Woman, Patricia Misery, and

• Also Friday: Get the Money Up Front Cabaret at SOMArts in San Francisco, 934 Brannan Street (map). America's Got Talent, Beach Blanket Babylon and the Leather Alliance award winner performers join the line-up in the San Francisco Sex Worker Festival's Get The Money Up Front Cabaret. • Sunday, May 29: Carnaval SF Grand Parade with the Hot Pink Feathers in San Francisco's Mission District (map). It's time for another Carnaval parade! Head to the Mission to see the Feathers this Sunday dance four new numbers with the fantastic Hot Pink Feathers All-Star Marching Band. They'll be contingent #47 out of 65, and will be starting near 2330 Bryant Street. They'll be at the after party at Casanova Lounge (527 Valencia) afterwards. The parade starts at 9:30am. Free. • Monday, May 30: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown Club in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue (map). Celebrate Memorial Day with Dottie Lux's School of Shimmy! Hubba Hubba Revue welcomes back Dottie & her cavalcade of lightly-clad ladies for another spectacular night of tassels & tease! The show will be hosted by Dottie, and will feature performances by Alotta Boutté, AJ Molecular, Francine Dead, Nicki Sparxx, The Pink Secret, and Tali Tart! Doors at 9pm, show at 10:15. $5. 21+.


• Wednesday, June 1: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street (map). Join Dottie Lux for Red Hots Burlesque as it expands to its second day of the week! A new and different show twice a week, including bizarre beauties, senseless sideshow, drag, burlesque and comedy! 7:30pm. $5 to $10, sliding scale. 21+.

Join the Hot Pink Feathers at Carnaval SF 2011!

It's not too early to think about joining the Hot Pink Feathers at Carnaval SF this year! They've put together a "Full Showgirl Option" that will give you the full experience. All of the details from Kellita, the leader of the Feathers, are below. Note that if you pay in full by Tuesday, February 15, you may qualify for an early bird discount if you're one of the first five!

If you're interested in a package that is not as intensive, those will be announced soon.
