San Francisco Bay Area burlesque for the New Year's week of January 4 to January 10, 2012

The holidays are over, which means that the number of shows will be getting back to normal levels.

This week, Red Hots Burlesque returns, and the other regularly scheduled shows such as First Friday Follies, Séduction Féroce, and the Bombshell Betty show at the Elbo Room will be happening.

• Wednesday, January 4: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street (map). Come with your sense of humor, get ready to enter the pink bubble. Red Hots Burlesque brings you the "city's best" bump and grind at the "happiest hour" in the bay and newly noted "#3 burlesque show in the country to take your girl to"! This Wednesday night, see performances by RHB's featured performer of the month, Vaudie Va Boom, and visiting performer The Lady Ms. Vagina Jenkins! Plus local performers Verses of Seduction and Cherry Poppins! With your host, Juicy D. Light! 7:30pm. $5 to $10, sliding scale. 21+.


• Thursday, January 5: Red Hots Burlesque and El Rio presents "Go Deep: Let's Wrestle!" at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street (map). Red Hots Burlesque have been conspiring with your friends at El Rio to bring you an all girl monthly lube wrestling party. No one can resist hot babes covered in glistening sex slick writhing and wriggling in attempts of pinning each other. You can come and watch or be a part of the action. • Also Friday: First Friday Follies at The Stork Club in Oakland, 2330 Telegraph Avenue (map). The First Friday Follies follows the evening's art walk through downtown/uptown art galleries. Finish up the evening with laughter and naughtiness with Juicy D. Light and other performers at the Stork Club! This month is scheduled to be the Livid Cult Burlesque Theatre edition with Dorian Faust, Elyse Elaine, Sgt. Die Wies, The Empress, and special guest Patricia Misery. • Monday, January 9: Uptown Hubba Hubba at the Uptown Club in Oakland, 1928 Telegraph Avenue (map). Hubba Hubba Revue proudly presents award-winning *BURLESQUE* at rock-bottom, recession-era prices! This week featuring Sgt. Die Wies, Josie Starre, Vesper Synd, Lady Brett, Rosalynn La Roux, Elyse Elaine, Sparkly Devil, and troupe performances by Beyond Burlesque! Doors at 9pm, show at 10:15pm. $5. 21+.


• Tuesday, January 10: Séduction Féroce at Era Art Bar and Lounge in Oakland, (map). Séduction Féroce is a burlesque cabaret variety show that happens every second Tuesday of the month! This month there's an amazing line-up of performers to tantalize your taste buds. A stage kitten that will make you lick your bowl of milk clean, Simone Clamorous and the dj who keeps the show on the flow DJ gravedigger! The evening will be hosted by the coquette of comedy and sexy siren, Kat Bryson (also known to many as Kitty Von Tittie)! Performances by Dorian Faust, Bohemian Brethrens, Miss Prick, Elyse Elaine, Sheba Queen of the Night, Shannon Vau de Vire, Tali the Tattooed Tart, Ruby Vixen, Mama Dora, Cherry Poppins, and Texas the Clown! • Also Tuesday: Taboo Burlesque at the Elbo Room in San Francisco, 647 Valencia Street (map). Sex, Politics, Religion & Money! All the things you're not supposed to talk about in "polite company" and they're all in one show! Political irreverence, heresy, conspiracy theories, the Occupy movement, and more! Featuring burlesque by Bombshell Betty, Candy Pie, Cooki Crumbles, Cosette L'Amour, Erzuli Rose, Hazel Deville, If-N-Whendy, Lady Brett, Laura Borealis, Red Velvet, Sindee Rose, Trixie Fou Laurent, Vadge O'Fonor, Wanda Wonderland plus several performers so new they haven't got stage names yet, including graduates from Burlesquercise!™ classes! With emcees Patina DeCopper and A. Randy Johnson! Doors at 9pm, show at 9:30pm. $10 general admission, $35 table for two (includes general admission).
