Incredibly, time has flown by so quickly! With this weekly round-up of shows, the SFBR has reached 500 posts. Where did the time go?
During this time, there has been an influx of performers from New York City, there has been a Tease-O-Rama, many Uptown Hubba Hubbas and Red Hots Burlesques, film premieres from Lux Killmore Entertainment and various indie documentary filmmakers, many benefit shows, and lots and lots of fun! :-)
And things don't seem to be slowing down too much in the burlesque community. Despite the cancellation of this year's Tease-O-Rama due to economic conditions, Lux Killmore will be starting production on their film Feed soon, Red Hots Burlesque is more popular than ever, the Hubbas keep chugging along, there are new shows like Kentucky Fried Woman's, Kellita and the Hot Pink Feathers continue steaming up stages and there are an increasing number of burlesque festivals around the world. Plus there's that Christina Aguilera neo-burlesque film that may bring the scene to a mainstream audience. There's much more going on the current world of burlesque--even in the Bay Area--than I could describe in this one post!
It's been a fun ride, and we'll see what the next 500 posts will bring! See ya at some shows, dear readers! Cheers! :-)
