Hot Pink Feathers split their squad for an SF show and an East Bay show this Saturday, June 9

The acclaimed Bay Area dance troupe, Hot Pink Feathers, will be splitting up this Saturday. No, no. They didn't break up over an argument over who had the hottest pink feathers, but they'll be performing at two different shows that night! One group will be performing at Twang Bang Hillbilly Music and Burlesque Show at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, and the other will be performing at their monthly Burlesque n' Brass show in Oakland at Cafe Van Kleef!

The Feathers will be providing the burlesque at the Twang Bang Hillbilly Music and Burlesque Show. Providing the hillbilly music? The Dirty Hand Family Band, The Famous, The Shants, and The Rogers! Should be a good, foot-stomping time for everyone age 6 and older!

Busy weekend in San Francisco Bay Area burlesque!

This weekend, there are quite a few burlesque shows to see, especially tonight. From sASSy Hotbuns' Honky-Tonk Burlesque on Friday afternoon to Kentucky Fried Woman's tribute show to the late Whitney Houston on Sunday evening, it's bound to be a fun time for burlesque fans.

San Francisco Bay Area burlesque for week of January 11 to January 17

This week things really get started with a bevy of shows that will have you choosing.

Long-running shows like Little Minsky's on Thursday and Burlesque n' Brass on Saturday will be having their first shows of the year.

There are free shows such as Hotbuns Honky-Tonk Burlesque and The Mischievous Maidens show on Friday for those on a budget.

For those of you near Santa Cruz, the Sin Sisters will be having their first show of the year this Saturday.

For those of you who like boylesque and wrestling, Go Deep -- For the Boys on Thursday is the show for you. Lube wrestling with men. Brought to you by the fellows of sfBoylesque!

Red Hots Burlesque is even bringing audiences classy chicken burlesque on Friday evening. I'm assuming there will be chicken-themed acts, but one never really knows! San Francisco Bay Area burlesque for the week of December 7 to December 13, 2011

The holidays are upon us, and the new year is just around the corner. So there's lots of shows with lots of holiday spirit to experience!

The Center for Sex and Culture will be having their season kick-off at El Rio on Thursday evening. There will be a number of burlesque performers among the entertainers including The Stripping Granny, Red Velvet, and Lady Monster. This will be one of the final performances by Lady Monster in San Francisco before she moves out of state!

Original Sin Burlesque will also be having a holiday-themed show, with the addition of a tropical theme! Their Spectacular Holiday Revue will be happening also on Thursday evening at the Forbidden Island Tiki Lounge in Alameda.

On Saturday, the Hot Pink Feathers and Blue Bone Express will be involved in the holiday edition of their show, Burlesque n' Brass at Cafe Van Kleef in Oakland.

Bombshell Betty and her Burlesqueteers will be celebrating the holidays with their All Kinds of Sexy Burlesque Benefit Show on Tuesday at the Elbo Room in San Francisco.

And of course, there are the other regularly scheduled shows, which are outlined below.

Burlesque n' Brass at Cafe Van Kleef in Oakland this Saturday, November 12

Looking for a good place to take a date for a show? The Hot Pink Feathers and Blue Bone Express have a show every second Saturday of the month (tonight!) at Cafe Van Kleef in Oakland.

Cafe Van Kleef is an intimate club where the dancers will often dance right down the middle aisle right in front of delighted spectators. You'll want to arrive early to get a good seat, though, as standing near the door doesn't provide the same view!

So buy a drink at the bar, and find a good place to listen to the jazz of Blue Bone Express and watch the hot showgirl dance moves of the Hot Pink Feathers. And if you don't have a date, perhaps you may find one at the bar.

The doors open at 8:30 p.m., and the music starts at 9:30. Cafe Van Kleef is located at 1621 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland (map), which is very close to the 19th Street Oakland BART station. Entry is $10.00, and you'll need to be 21 or older to attend.

San Francisco Bay Area burlesque for the week of November 9 to 15, 2011

The weekly round-up of burlesque shows has moved up a day! It'll cover shows from Wednesday to Tuesday of each week.

In other news, Dr. Sketchy's East Bay has been presented by Red Hots Burlesque in Oakland on a monthly basis since April of this year. At least until they find a new venue, this will be the last Dr. Sketchy's East Bay. The models will come from Sin Sisters Burlesque of Santa Cruz.

Former Bay Area resident Mariel a la Mode will be performing at a couple of shows this week. If you'd like to say "hooray" or "woot," She'll be performing at Little Minsky's on Thursday and Barbary Coast Burlesque on Friday.

If you're out in Brentwood of Discovery Bay, The Mischievous Maidens will be performing at their monthly show, Cabaret Rouge, in Byron tonight. They'll often have special guests, so check out their show at the Wild Idol Saloon! For those of you in the more immediate Bay Area, they will return to San Francisco this Friday evening for their monthly free show at the Skylark Bar.

sASSy Hotbuns of sASSy's Seaside Burlesque will be presenting Hotbuns Hillbilly Hotties at The Riptide in San Francisco early Friday evening. If you can make it over there by 6:00 p.m., this is the show for you! The happy hour drink specials start at 4:00, so start your weekend a bit earlier than usual! Plus it's a free show!

San Francisco Bay Area burlesque for October 6 - October 12, 2011

Once again, there are a lot of shows happening this week!

Among the highlights are performances from New York's GiGi La Femme at the Go Deep show tonight, First Friday Follies will be having a Stanley Kubrick themed show on Friday, sASSy's Seaside Burlesque will once again be entertaining crowds in Pacifica, the Hot Pink Feathers will be celebrating five years of Burlesque n' Brass with Blue Bone Express at Cafe Van Kleef on Saturday, and there will be a wedding anniversary roast of Sparkly Devil and her hubby Bones at the Hubba Hubba Revue show on Monday in Oakland.

San Francisco Bay Area burlesque for September 8 - September 14, 2011

There's quite a lot happening this week in Bay Area burlesque!

Delilah, one of our most notable ecdysiasts, will be moving on to New York City. So this coming week will include her final shows before the big move. It looks like the Hubba Hubba Revue's 5-Year Anniversary Spectacular on Friday, September 16 will be her last show here as a resident, but you can also catch her at Little Minsky's on Thursday, this Friday's Red Hots Burlesque, and Monday's Hubba Hubba Revue show in Oakland. Fella Fem will be having their last Le Boy show this Saturday at the White Horse Inn in Oakland. This will not only be a celebration of the final show, but also a celebration of Dicky Luv's birthday!

The Haight Street Hop will be hosting the debut of Burlesque Bingo in San Francisco! The show will feature Miss Exotic World 2002 Kitten DeVille, as well as Burlesque Bingo's founder Audrey DeLuxe, Flame Cynders, Mynx d'Meanor, and more!

"Burlesque Assassins" at tonight's Burlesque n' Brass at Cafe Van Kleef in Oakland

It's a very special Burlesque n' Brass tonight, Saturday, August 13, as the guest stars are some members of the international cast of the upcoming film "Burlesque Assassins"!

International circus and burlesque performer Armitage Shanks, the Carny Preacher, will be hosting the evening, which will include performances by Italy's biggest burlesque star Scarlett Martini, Switzerland's Blue Angel Koko La Douce, Germany's Hedo Luxe, and Kellita of the Hot Pink Feathers! And all of this will be in addition to the usual group performances from HPF and Blue Bone Express and some solo performances, too!

The film so far has a January 2012 release date in Canada according to IMDB, and you may find more information about the film at burlesqueassassins.com.

Cafe Van Kleef is located at 1621 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland (map). The doors will open at 8:30 p.m., and the first set of shows will start at 9:30. The cover is $10.00. Get there early for a good seat and viewing spot, as the club is very intimate. And you'll need to be at least 21 with ID to show the door person to get in.

San Francisco Bay Area burlesque for August 11 - August 17, 2011

A number of shows this week will be marked by the arrival of the international cast of the upcoming film, "Burlesque Assassins".

Cast members, including the Bay Area's Kellita, will perform at Little Minsky's, Cabaret Perilous, Burlesque n' Brass, and at their own show in Big Sur on Sunday evening. Another big event happens this evening at Oakland Metro. It's a fundraiser for Jelly Boy the Clown, who was severely injured in a residential fire earlier this summer. The Hubba Hubba Revue, Red Hots Burlesque, Vau de Vire Society, Dispaced Labors Sideshow, and more will be participating to help raise funds for this member of the Squidliing Brothers Circus Sideshow.
