Curvicious Cabaret debuts this Thursday, March 10

This Thursday evening marks the debut of a new monthly burlesque show in San Francisco at the Blue Macaw: Curvicious Cabaret! The tagline for the show is "Burlesque That Bites Back!" So expect the show to have some teeth to it. Rawr!

Curvicious Cabaret is a Sparkly Devil Production, and Sparkly will also be hosting the show in the remodeled Blue Macaw club, which used to be 12 Galaxies. She's got quite a lineup scheduled! Performers will include The Scarlet Ladders, Revolva (from Portland), Lady Satan, Ruby White, Calamity Lulu, Delilah, Coco Noir, and Kiss Me Kate! Plus there will be prizes, trivia contests, and special guests!

A new burlesque show is always an exciting event that promises some unexpected and new twists. Sparkly is a longtime performer who has helped out with the Hubba Hubba Revue, so it'll be interesting to see what she has come up with for her own monthly show. She has probably been thinking about what she'd like to see in a show for some time now!

It will all kickoff this Thursday at 9:00 p.m. at the Blue Macaw, 2565 Mission Street in San Francisco (map). Cover will be $10.00, and you'll need to be 21 or older to attend.

Burlesque n' Brass: "Hair of the Dog" show at the Blue Macaw this Saturday, January 1

The Hot Pink Feathers and Blue Bone Express will be having their "Hair of the Dog" edition of Burlesque n' Brass at San Francisco's Blue Macaw in the Mission this Saturday. Yes, it's a New Year's Day show!

Cafe Van Kleef, which is the usual home of Burlesque n' Brass, is dark for the holiday, so it'll be a special edition of the show in the City by the Bay to kick off 2011. Hip, hip, hooray!

The Blue Macaw is located at 2565 Mission Street (map), and the doors will open at 8:00 p.m., and the show will begin at 9:00. Cover is $10.00, though tips will be appreciated! Please be 21 years of age or older.

Moulin Rouge New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve with the Hot Pink Feathers? You betcha! They'll be performing at the LAM Social Club and French Tuesdays event "Moulin Rouge!" at Broadway Studios in San Francisco, 435 Broadway. Tickets range from $25 for members to $75 for non-members. This Friday see, hear, feel, and experience the fourth annual Rock Strip n' Roll show at the Blue Macaw in San Francisco. The metal bands will include Live Evil, Wild Side, and Cookie Mongoloid! Oh yeah! Cookie Monster backed by a speed metal band... that my friends is Cookie Mongoloid!

And don't forget the burlesque, which this year includes the Twilight Vixen Revue, Sparkly Devil, and Clandestine.

Your host will be Eva von Slut, veteran of several bands and burlesque shows herself.

San Francisco area burlesque for April 21 to April 27, 2010

Aside from the two weekly shows, Red Hots Burlesque and Hubba Hubba Revue at the Uptown, there's two shows happening this Friday night.

Rock Strip n' Roll 4 will be starting at 9pm at The Blue Macaw in San Francisco. It'll feature rock bands Live Evil, Wildside, and Cookie Mongoloid performing with burlesque artists Twilight Vixen Revue, Sparkly Devil, and Clandestine.

At the same time, Baxtalo Drom's Nomad's Curse will be taking place at Amnesia. Join the Hubba Hubba Revue's emcee Kingfish for a mystical night of belly dance, burlesque, middle eastern psychedelia, and bass driven Gypsy beats.

• Friday, April 23: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street. Dottie Lux may be in Seattle to perform with Kentucky Fried Woman at Femmetasia, but the RHB show must go on! Join Debauchery's Ruby Vixen for a show featuring Honey Le Bang, School of Shimmy graduate Ava Lanche, Milkshake, and very special musical entity and beam of black light Virginia Suicide!
