Hubba Hubba Holidays! Christmas-Hanukkah Spectacular on Friday, holiday-themed mashup with Bootie SF on Saturday

It's the time of year for surf rockin' rabbis, ecdysiasts, DJs, and funny emcee types to come together to celebrate the holidays with live shows. It's the holidays Hubba Hubba Revue style!

This Friday evening at the DNA Lounge, it'll be the fifth annual Christmas-Hanukkah Spectacular! The show will feature that rockin' surf rock band, Meshugga Beach Party! They'll play some classic holiday tunes with that unique surf music twist. Mazel tov!

Plus there will be the dancers! Visiting from Sacramento to perform will be the Sizzling Sirens! Also in town will be the Dolls of Doom from Chicago. Of course, there will be some of your favorite local performers such as Peekaboo Burlesque, Sparkly Devil, Honey Lawless, Bunny Pistol, Miss Balla Fire, Alotta Boutté, Truvy Trollop, and more!

The show will take place at the DNA Lounge, which is located at 375 11th Street in San Francisco (map). Incidentally, although it's stated that this will be the last Friday show at the DNA Lounge, the Hubbas will be having shows on Thursdays there starting in January 2012!

The doors will open at 9:00 p.m., and the show is scheduled to start at 10:15. If you arrive at the box office between 9:00 and 9:30, though, you can get in for $12.00! You may also purchase $12.00 tickets online at dnalounge.com. Otherwise, entry is $15.00.

The holiday merriment continues on Saturday at the DNA Lounge as the Hubbas join Bootie SF for a holiday-themed mashup show!

Starring such local talents as Mynx d'Meanor, Kiss Me Kate, Pickles Kintaro, aerialist Sommer Panage, and troupe Beyond Burlesque, the burlesque part of the show will be hosted by Kingfish and Comrade Tang. It will start at 11:00 p.m.

The rest of the show will feature mashup DJs such as DJ Tyme and Nathan Scot, DJ Fox, and Mad Murdock! In the upstairs room, it'll be Glitterazzi with DJ Meikee Magnetic, Mixtress Shizaam, and special guest DJ Enzyme Dynamite! There will also be a birthday celebration for Mystie Rodriguez!

Live on stage at 11 PM, it's a holiday-themed mashup show presented by the Bay Area's best burlesque extravaganza, Hubba Hubba Revue! Hosted by emcee Kingfish, and featuring three sexy performers, an aerialist, and an entire burlesque troupe, the show promises to be a festive mix of striptease, comedy, and spectacle!

Spinning mashups all night will be DJ Tyme & Nathan Scot, who will be mixing in some holiday visuals on the DNA Lounge's big screens during their set. Joining them on the main floor will be DJ Fox and Mad Murdock. And in the upstairs room, it's Glitterazzi, a night of explosive electro, mashups, and house, with DJs Meikee Magnetic and Mixtress Shizaam. The night is a special birthday celebration for Mystie Rodriguez, and will feature special guest MC Enzyme Dynamite doing a surprise electro-alt-hip-hop performance!

Serendipitously enough, I'm listening to a podcast with photographer/writer/publisher Dale Rio (www.dalerio.com) as I'm typing this. And her first exposure to burlesque was when she became interested in sideshows in New York. It's always fascinating to see all the connections between so many of these forms of artistic expression!

Whew! Doing this online promotion volunteer work for Tease-O-Rama is quite time-intensive! I've been editing and fiddling with the wording of different posts that have gone on different mailing lists and event listing boards.
