Valentine's Day, Dogs, Fundraisers and the Hubba Hubba Revue

This Saturday, February 12, the Hubba Hubba Revue is helping to show some love to man's best friend. There will be a "Valentine's Day Pitty Party" at the Lucky 13 Bar in San Francisco (2140 Market Street, map) to raise funds for Pinups for Pitbulls and Chako.org. It'll be $15.00, the doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the show is at 8:00.

Cabaret Perilous and Rebel Cupcake in Oakland on Friday, January 28

This Friday, there will be burlesque in Oakland! In fact, there will be two shows which you can probably attend back-to-back.

The first is Rebel Cupcake, which will be at the Bench and Bar located at 510 17th Street (map), which is located just a few blocks from the Uptown Club where Cabaret Perilous will be happening. In fact, the Rebel Cupcake show will start at 9:00 p.m. and is scheduled to end at 10:00, which is when Cabaret Perilous will start!

Rebel Cupcake will feature performancs by Vixen Noir, Ms. Ginger Snapz of Seattle, Titland (Kentucky Fried Woman and Starr69), and more! It's a short show, but it's filled with talent!

The Hubba Hubba Revue presents Cabaret Perilous this Saturday, November 13, at the Uptown Nightclub in Oakland.

The show will feature circus acts such as the Displayed Labors Sideshow and acrobats Ladybug & Crow. There will be burlesque performances by Madam Chartreuse, Bunny Pistol, Jellyfish Kiss, and others. And there will be music from songstress Casey Castille and the Eastbanian band Brothers Horse. Plus lots of other acts, and the comedy of emcee Sideshow Eddie!

Doors open at 9 p.m., and the show starts at 10. It's $10 to get in, and you must be 21 or older. The Uptown is located at 1928 Telegraph Avenue (map).

Blackhoodygrrl performs Monday at Hubba Hubba Revue's Uptown Club show

When you wander the stacks of the local university libraries, do you ever wonder if some of the librarians are actually belly dancing warrior goddesses of the apocalypse to come? Well, wonder no more, for Blackhoodygrrl is one of those goddesses and she'll be performing this Monday at the Hubba Hubba Revue's show at the Uptown Club in Oakland.

The name Blackhoodygrrl describes "an archetypal idea: a living symbol of mystery and duality, inspired by a deep love of medieval Irish monasticism and the Sacred Dance." This Monday at the Uptown Club in Oakland, see a special performance by Jellyfish Kiss Burlesque. Yes, it's almost time for the Hubba Hubba Revue's weekly show in the East Bay!

Jodi Waseca, who teaches burlesque and belly dancing classes in Sebastopol, heads up Jellyfish Kiss, which will feature some of her students. If you're interested in taking burlesque classes in the North Bay, I'm sure Jodi would be happy to answer any questions you may have during intermission or after the show.

Jodi Waseca performances and burlesque classes

I've been going through all of my event notices and email messages and noticed that there will be a lot of shows and classes involving Jodi Waseca coming up.

Jodi is a performer and teacher from the North Bay. Tonight at the Hubba Hubba show at the Uptown, she'll be performing as part of Room for Cream. On Friday, January 15, she'll be performing as part of the band Brothers Horse at Hubba Hubba Revue--Special Edition! at the Uptown Club in Oakland (Corrected 1/12/2010). On January 25, she'll be performing with her burlesque troupe Jellyfish Kiss at Uptown Hubba Hubba. And on January 30, she'll be on stage with Room for Cream as part of Hubba Hubba Revue: Caravan-tastic! show at the Paradise Lounge in San Francisco.
