Oakland burlesque! A red, white, and blue Hubba Hubba Revue, and Hot Pink Feathers, too!

This Saturday, July 3, you'll have the opportunity to see two burlesque shows in Oakland! The Hubba Hubba Revue's Star-Spangled Saturday will be at the Uptown Club, while Burlesque n' Brass with the Hot Pink Feathers and Blue Bone Express will be at Cafe Van Kleef. The two clubs are separated by a walk of not more than five minutes. Why not drop in and see both shows? Burlesque n' Brass will start first, so you may want to start your evening there. Doors open at 8:30 p.m., and the show will start at 9:30. The Hot Pink Feathers will provide the booty-shakin' dancing, while Blue Bone Express will provide the booty-shakin' music! The perfect combination to get you in the mood for fireworks!

San Francisco area burlesque for June 30 to July 6, 2010

This week includes a 4th of July weekend, and there will be some shows to help you celebrate the founding of our great country!

The Hubba Hubba Revue will have a show on Saturday, a "Star Spangled" Saturday, no less! If the HHR can't set your rockets off, nothing will! And don't forget the 4th of July "after party" on Monday at the Uptown Club! There will be an abundance of entertainment from HHR including the fantastic Kitten on the Keys, the funny and talented juggler Frank Olivier, and the smokin' hot Anni Boelyn & The Kountry Kittens visiting from Sonora!

When you get down to it, there's few things more American than burlesque. Happy 4th of July, everyone!

• Friday, July 2: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street. Dottie Lux brings you a different show every single week! Each event promises the seductive and spicy, absurd and amusing all from local and visiting talent. Show at 7:30pm. $5-10, sliding scale. 21+ w/ID.


• Also, Friday: First Friday Follies at the Stork Club in Oakland, 2330 Telegraph Avenue. Special musical guests Scission will rock the Stork Club, while Sparkly Devil, Last Night's Fling, Vera DeVille, Dottie Lux, Peaches Velour, Ruby Vixen, and Sheba Queen of the Night will lend their sparkle and shimmies to the proceedings. BB Dahl will be stage kitten, and Margaret France and some guest emcees will host. 9pm. No cover, but donations warmly encouraged. 21+ w/ID.

Visiting from Sonora, it's Anni Boelyn & The Kountry Kittens featuring Anni Boelyn, Gurdy Leigh, Jessie Van Terror, and Minxie Baby! Plus, local performers Lady Satan, Kiss Me Kate, and Monifa! And if that's not enough, they'll all be joined by some very special guests: entertainer extraordinaire Kitten on the Keys and comedy-juggler Frank Olivier!
