Burlesque Boot Camp with Twinkletoes McGee starts November 1, 2009

Sparkly Devil let me know that her friend Twinkletoes McGee is offering a Burlesque Boot Camp starting on November 1. You may remember that he performed with Sparkly at Hubba Hubba Revue: Oktoberfest! and Burlesque-Rock Showcase just last week! Here's a picture of the two at the Oktoberfest! show.

There will be two four-class series, one which focuses on solo performances and the other on working in a group. All classes are on Sundays at Shotwell Studios in San Francisco.

All of the details are provided in the class description below. If you have any questions, please contact Sparkly Devil at sparkly.devil@gmail.com.

Twinkletoes McGee, SF's newest boylesque performer and a trained, professional dancer, is thrilled to unveil his Fall series of Burlesque Boot Camp. A former member of the Trockadero Ballet, Twink has over a decade of experience teaching jazz, tap, hip hop and ballet. His debut class two weeks ago was a phenomenal hit, and now he's back for a full 8 weeks! First class is this Sunday, Nov 1st -- all classes are Sundays, 4-6pm at Shotwell Studios, 3252 19th St, San Francisco.

This is an incredibly fun & challenging workout, and ideal for either the experience burlesque dancer, or anyone looking to break a sweat and set their inner showgirl free!

STRUT IT! BUMP IT! WORK IT!

Burlesque Boot Camp will define and refine your craft. This exciting series of classes taught by "Twink" Twinkletoes McGee will give you the tools to become a stronger and more confident performer. You will focus on cardio dance, strengthening exercises, Jazz and Hip Hop dance progressions, learning new choreography and perfecting technique for the serious Burlesque performer. All classs are Sundays, 4-6pm at Shotwell Studios, 3252 19th St, San Francisco

SERIES#1 Creating and Refining a Solo: Nov.1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd

In this series you will learn original choreography and refine your performance technique. We will create a solo dance number which will be set to 4 different styles of music. This will illustrate how basic movements can be adapted to different themed acts (classic, modern, comedic, etc.). You will learn how to add and subtract sections of choreography so you can piece together and create your own exciting solo performance piece. You can take just one class, or all four, or just walk in! But it's best to Paypal in advance to reserve your spot, since class limit is 15 students. Special discount for those who pay in advance for all 4 classes.

Series #2 Working in a Group: November 29th and December 6th, 13th and 20th

Learn to work in a group setting as a team. The focus of this class will be on learning to count music, staying in sync with others and timing. Learning to dance in a group as a team is a valuable skill all serious performers should master. Students taking this class will be invited to rehearse and perform at a local Burlesque event with Twinkle Toes McGee. Due to the group nature of this series students must attend all four classes.

Prices: $60 for a four class series
$105 for all eight classes
$17 per class for walk-in students at solo series.

Class limit is 15 students. To guarantee your spot, send your payment, along with the classes you wish to take and your stage name, to sparkly.devil@gmail.com. PLEASE SELECT GIFT for payment option to avoid unnecessary fees.
