Kingfish emcees Bohemian Carnival this Saturday, and Debauchery happens on Sunday!

Ever been to see Bohemian Carnival? It's a combination of circus and sideshow acts, dance, art and music brought to you by the Vau de Vire Society and Gooferman. You'll see clowns, burlesque performers, belly dancers, clowns, aerial artists, go-go dancers, actors, clowns, artists, hoop dancers, and clowns. Did I mention that you'll see clowns at the Bohemian Carnival?

This Saturday, Kingfish of the Hubba Hubba Revue will be the emcee, and the Burley Sisters, Sister Kate, and Fou Fou HA! will be amongst the performers.

Advance tickets are available for purchase at www.bohemiancarnival.net for $20, and the show will be at CELLspace in San Francisco, 2050 Bryant Street.

Also on Saturday, catch Le Boy at the White Horse Inn in Oakland. Every second Saturday of the month, Fella Fem presents queer, gender-bending boylesque. The doors open at 7pm and the show begins at 8. Admission is $10 on a sliding scale, and it's a 21 and older venue, which is located at 6555 Telegraph Avenue.

On Sunday evening at the White Horse Inn, it's time for Debauchery! This month's show will benefit Causa Justa, and it will feature lots of your favorite Debauchery dancers! The shows are always high energy and a good time. Doors open at 7pm, and the show starts at 8. All of the show information that you need to know are below.

San Francisco area burlesque for August 11 to August 17, 2010

There's a nice, full schedule of shows this week, with something happening almost every day of the week. And on some days, there are more than one show from which to choose! From Red Hots Burlesque's show at El Rio's award-winning happy hour, to Les Follies Champagne at the swanky Bubble Lounge, there's something to fit everyone's taste.

So take a look at the schedule of shows, find out which ones grab you, and then head out and support your local burlesque shows and performers!

• Thursday, August 12: Little Minsky's Burlesque/Variety Show at Club Deluxe in San Francisco, 1511 Haight Street. Join MC Veronica Klaus for an evening of burlesque, music, and comedy. Featuring burlesque by SF Boylesque, Vienna la Rouge, Sailor St. Claire (Seattle), Flame Cynders, Dottie Lux, and Chi Chis DelFuego. Plus belly dancing by Sister Kate, daredevil Molotov, songs from Katya Smirnoff-Skyy, and piano music from Michael McIntosh. Doors at 9pm, show at 10. $5, 21+ w/ID.


• Friday, August 13: Red Hots Burlesque at El Rio in San Francisco, 3158 Mission Street. Red Hots is San Francisco's only weekly burlesque show! Every week, Dottie Lux brings you quality entertainment featuring the best in burlesque. This week's show includes erformances from Dottie Lux, Kentucky Grilled Man, Flame Cynders, La Rena Rose, Kiss Me Kate, AJ Molecular, Tally Tart (making her stage debut!) and our sexy stage kitten--Francine Dead. Show at 7:30pm. $5-10, sliding scale. 21+ w/ID.


• Also Friday: The Mischievous Maidens at The Skylark Bar in San Francisco, 3089 16th Street. Join the Mischievous Maidens burlesque troupe every second Friday of the month for a fun start to your weekend at the Skylark Bar with live burlesque and stand-up comedy! 7pm to 10pm. With Rosalyn LaRoux, Wendy Marlatt, Bunny Von Tail, Desiree DuBois, Miss Lida Fire, Jinx the Minx, The Empress, and special guests Miss Bella Trixx and the Shadow Circus Creature Theater! Doors at 9pm, show at 10:15. $5, 21+ w/ID.


• Tuesday, August 17: Dr. Sketchy's San Francisco presents Lady Monster at 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco, 111 Minna Street. Burlesque dancer, fire tassel twirler, naked muse to Leonard Nimoy in his book, The Full Body Project. Lady Monster has worked with countless well known rabble-rousers such as the Revolting Cocks, Margaret Cho, Annie Sprinkle and Nina Hartley. Fire up your Microns and get ready to draw the fabulous Lady Monster! 7pm to 10pm. $10 general admission, $7 students and teachers with valid identification. 21+ w/ID.


• Also Tuesday: Les Follies Champagne at The Bubble Lounge in San Francisco, 714 Montgomery Street. This month's theme will be "Sideshow Soiree," so dress to impress! Featuring contortion by Alan Cormack, sword-swallowing by Tobias Weinberger, peepshow by Bunny Pistol, and comedy by Lee Sanger Goldin! Plus French-Gypsy-Circus-DJ Blaise and more surprises! 8pm to midnight. No cover, 21+ w/ID.
