Queer Rebels of the Harlem Renaissance and First Friday Follies on Friday, June 4, 2010

This Friday evening, catch "Queer Rebels of the Harlem Renaissance: A Night of BullDaggers, Sissies & Food!" at the African American Arts and Culture Complex in San Francisco. Curated by the Bay Area's own Kali "KB" Boyce and Celeste Chan, this celebration of the Harlem Renaissance is presented by the Queer Cultural Center and the National Queer Arts Festival. The show will include performances by ecdysiasts Vagina Jenkins, Simone de la Getto, Ginger Snapz, and others.

Over in Oakland, First Friday Follies will be staging their Queen Tribute show at the Stork Club on Telegraph Avenue. It's a "no cover" show (but please donate at the door to get your Freddie Mercury mustache!), and it's a great way to cap off the evening of strolling the galleries of Oakland's Art Murmur! Make sure you get there early to get a good spot to sit/stand for the show, though, as it's sometime difficult to see the stage from the back of the room.
